Former Democratic New York Rep. Max Rose claimed Tuesday that former President Donald Trump’s decision to dance onstage at a town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, proves he is suffering from “dementia.”
Trump wrapped up his town hall Monday by dancing to music for an extended period after two attendees reportedly experienced medical emergencies. Rose, on “Ana Cabrera Reports,” asserted only a “demented” person would dance during a town hall event and urged Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign to portray Trump as “supremely incompetent and entering the final stages of his life.” (RELATED: CNN Panel ‘Surprised’ Kamala Harris Could Not Name Anything She’d Do Differently From Biden)

“You have to be demented to stand on stage and start dancing when it’s a town hall … We have two sides of Donald Trump right now. One, we have just this grave threat to all that we hold dear, our Constitution, our democracy,” Rose said. “On the same hand, I would say the principal driving force of his incompetency is the fact that he is not all there. He’s a couple fries short of a Happy Meal at this point. And that’s why he’s standing up there, dancing to the YMCA, can barely do the YMCA if you actually check out the video. And so, this is a story in a video.”
“You don’t even actually have to listen to his words. And it’s just imperative at this point that the campaign pushes those two separate narratives: grave threat and also just supremely incompetent and entering the final stages of his life,” he added. “You know, I feel bad for his family right now. I know so many people have to deal with their parents as they’ve gone through stages of dementia, and that’s clearly what they’re on the precipice of having to deal with now, but he certainly should go nowhere near the Oval Office.”
While in North Carolina, Harris recently accused Trump’s staff of preventing him from doing a “60 Minutes” interview, granting her a debate rematch and publishing his medical records. Journalist Mark Halperin asserted Monday that these fresh talking points are not meaningful to average voters, and she is only raising them due to her prior strategies against Trump falling flat.
“She’s talking about stuff that really has no effect on the real lives of real people, okay? When you are in the end, and you’re looking at the polls every day, and the stuff you haven’t been doing that isn’t working, according to your own data, what do you do? You start talking about new stuff to see what sticks to the wall,” Halperin said.
Trump currently has slim leads in six out of the main seven battleground states, with Harris only holding a slight advantage in Wisconsin, according to the RealClearPolling averages Tuesday.
“I had a Town Hall in Pennsylvania last night. It was amazing! The Q and A was almost finished when people began fainting from the excitement and heat,” Trump posted on Truth Social Tuesday. “We started playing music while we waited, and just kept it going. So different, but it ended up being a GREAT EVENING!”
