Newsom’s Thanksgiving Message Flops Spectacularly as Californians Roast Him [WATCH]

California Governor Gavin Newsom found himself under fire yet again after posting a Thanksgiving video from the comfort of his newly purchased $9.1 million mansion in Marin County.

The move has drawn harsh criticism, with many accusing the wealthy Democrat of being completely out of touch with the struggles of average Californians.

Adding fuel to the fire, Newsom’s family also retained their $3.7 million mansion in Fair Oaks, raising eyebrows over their extravagant lifestyle, as reported by The Daily Mail.

While millions of Californians grapple with soaring inflation and skyrocketing housing costs, Newsom and his wife Jennifer posted a polished Thanksgiving message to social media.

Jennifer began with the generic sentiment, “Thanksgiving is about gratitude, it’s about appreciating what you have and who you’re with.” Newsom followed by expressing thanks for his family and, somewhat awkwardly, for his constituents.

The social media response was swift and scathing. Critics blasted the “tone-deaf” display of gratitude coming from the governor’s latest ivory tower.

One user mocked, “Happy Thanksgiving! How’s the weather over there in the $9 million mansion? Will you be offering tours?”

Another questioned the source of his wealth, sarcastically asking, “Cartels? The Gettys? Or maybe that $24 billion in missing homeless funds?”

Another user stated, “I can’t even afford a Thanksgiving dinner this year thanks a lot.”

This backlash comes on the heels of recent criticism aimed at Newsom’s public image. Last month, video footage of the governor casually sipping a latte while strolling through Los Angeles’ Skid Row, ignoring questions from protesters, went viral.

Californians were quick to point out the sharp contrast between his lavish lifestyle and the state’s rampant homelessness crisis.

Newsom’s recent mansion purchase hasn’t helped his image as an “everyman.”

The sprawling 5,600-square-foot property includes six bedrooms, a swimming pool, spa, and garden sculptures. The $9.1 million price tag makes it one of the most expensive homes purchased in Marin County in 25 years.

Meanwhile, the median home price in the county sits at $1.76 million, far beyond the reach of most residents.

Sacramento Bee columnist Robin Epley didn’t hold back in her critique, writing, “How can anyone in this state, much less this country, look to a man who is so excessively opulent in his lifestyle?”

She slammed the governor’s hypocrisy, highlighting his calls for frugality in the state budget while splurging on luxury real estate.

This isn’t the first time Newsom has faced scrutiny for hypocrisy.

During the pandemic, he infamously enforced strict mask mandates while being caught maskless at exclusive gatherings. His orders shut down Public schools, yet his children continued attending their elite private school.

His recent move was reportedly motivated by his eldest daughter’s enrollment at The Branson School, where tuition exceeds $60,000 annually.

Newsom’s opulent lifestyle and dismissive leadership continue to alienate Californians. As more families flee the state for more affordable, less regulated red states, Newsom’s disconnect from his constituents becomes harder to ignore.
