FACT CHECK: Did British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Claim To Make Pork For His Jewish Wife?

A post shared on social media purports that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer claimed that he enjoys making ham and pasta bake for his Jewish wife.

The claim is inaccurate.

Leader of Reform UK Nigel Farage claimed he has not heard that billionaire Elon Musk will donate $100 million to the movement after rumors of a donation spread, GBN reported. Forage said he has “absolutely no idea” about the donation, but did acknowledge that Musk’s support of the movement.

A Facebook post claims that Starmer talked about cooking ham and pasta bake for his family despite previous claims of dietary restrictions. The post shared an image of white text on a blue background.

The post reads, “Starmer yesterday on GMTV, saying he likes to cook on Saturday for his family. He said he loves cooking ham and pasta bake. Really? He’s wife’s Jewish and won’t eat pork! Another lie!”

The caption further claims, “More lies. He’s a pescatarian & his wife is a vegetarian.”

The claim is inaccurate. During a TV appearance just a few days ago, Starmer did say that he cooks a “handmade sauce” for his pasta bake.

Starmer’s wife is Jewish, according to The Times of Israel. She is also a vegetarian did not let their children eat meat until they were 10 years old, according to Daily Mail.  On podcast “Table Manners,” Starmer claimed that he gave up meat several years ago.
