However, the situation quickly turned bizarre when the officer discovered a spider monkey inside the luxury car.

The traffic stop, which was initially prompted by the driver’s speeding, took a strange twist when the CHP officer found the exotic animal in the vehicle.

The monkey, estimated to be about one month old, is considered illegal to own as a pet in California due to state laws restricting the ownership of primates.

The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Ali Mused Adel Mohamed, was not only found to be speeding but also under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to police officials.

Mohamed was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of cannabis for sale.

Along with the arrest, the discovery of the spider monkey led to further investigation.

The animal, which was taken into custody by animal control, was later transferred to the Oakland Zoo for proper care and attention.

Authorities confirmed that the monkey was safely removed from the situation and provided with the necessary medical care.

In a statement, the CHP reflected on the unusual nature of the stop, calling it “a traffic stop with a twist.” They also humorously referenced the bizarre turn of events on social media, writing, “Some next level monkey business!”

As for Mohamed, he is facing several charges, including possession of an exotic animal, DUI, and possession of cannabis for sale.

His arrest has sparked additional attention due to the unexpected circumstances, with many questioning how the animal ended up in the luxury vehicle.
