A photo shared on Instagram allegedly shows a post from President-elect Donald Trump saying that he would implement a nationwide ban of pornography on his first day in office.
Verdict: False
The image is digitally fabricated.
Fact Check:
Former first lady Michelle Obama will not be attending Trump’s inauguration on Monday, but reason has been provided to the public, according to AP News. She did attend Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, however, the outlet reported.
A post shared on Instagram purports to show a post made by Trump that claims he will ban adult content when he is in office. The image allegedly shows an X post from Trump that reads, “On my first day in office I will sign into law a nationwide ban on the sale, production, and possession of pornography.”
Text overlaid on the image reads, “Day 1 get rid of this demonic perversion. That’s what real presidents do. That’s how (to) use authority.”
The image is digitally fabricated, however. No such post can be found on Trump’s X account and there are no credible news reports to corroborate the claim. Additionally, the image shows Trump’s account with a blue checkmark, when it actually has a gray checkmark to signify that it’s a government account, and he has had this since at least Nov. 14 of last year.

Although not an outright porn ban, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on Wednesday on a Texas law stating porn sites should require age verification, according to Newsweek.
