Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has intensified efforts to target individuals in the country illegally, focusing primarily on those who pose threats to public safety or national security.
Over the past 24 hours, ICE agents arrested more than 308 individuals, including serious offenders such as murderers and child predators.
The operation aligns with President Donald Trump’s directive to prioritize the removal of the most dangerous offenders.

During an appearance on Fox News, former ICE Acting Director Tom Homan detailed the scope of the recent ICE operation and the criteria for enforcement.
“For it to be in the country illegally? First of all, I mean, there’s nothing in the immigration law [that] says you got to be convicted of a serious crime to be removed under the INA,” Homan said. “So if you’re in the country illegally, ICE can visit you.”
Homan emphasized, however, that ICE is prioritizing the most dangerous individuals under Trump’s guidance.
“But right now, as we said repeatedly, and the President Trump has been clear, we’re concentrating on the worst. First, the public safety threats, the national security threats,” he added.
Homan highlighted the results of the operation. “Just yesterday, in the last 24 hours, ICE arrested over 308 serious criminals. Some of them were murderers, some of them were rapists. Some of them raped a child. Some were a sexual assault of a child,” he said.
“ICE is doing their job. They’re prioritizing just as the President said they would. So the ICE is performing excellent right now out in the field, and they’re going to continue every day.”

In a separate segment, Homan addressed the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border, praising the dramatic reduction in illegal border crossings under Trump’s policies.
“Absolutely look, the greatest president in my lifetime. He’s back,” Homan stated.
“Because in two days, [in] the last 24 hours, total apprehensions on the southwest border [are] 766, compared to the 10 to 12,000 Biden had at one time.”
Homan attributed the shift to tighter enforcement and a renewed commitment to border security.
“CBP. CBP, one releases: zero. CHNV, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela, releases zero. Total of 766 across the entire Southwest border. That is a game changer,” he said.
“That is a gamechanger.”

The recent actions reflect a broader shift in immigration enforcement under Trump’s administration. ICE is focusing on removing the most dangerous offenders while apprehensions at the border have drastically decreased.
Both efforts signal a return to stricter immigration policies and enhanced border security.
As Homan noted, these measures aim to protect public safety and national security while sending a clear message of accountability to those violating U.S. immigration laws.
