You may or may not know the name “Brent Bozell,” but surely you know his work as the founder and president of the Media Research Center.
They are the guys who have worked the longest and accomplished the most to expose the Left-wing bias of the Pravda Media. Back when the only thing we could do was bitch about how biased the media was, Brent went to work documenting and exposing it. No doubt you have seen tens or hundreds of MRC clips online exposing the idiocy of the Pravda propagandists. I have used those videos countless times over the years.
Bozell was just named the CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
I am honored to be chosen by President Trump to serve as the next CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
There is lots of work to be done. I look forward to meeting with Senators ahead of my confirmation hearing to explore how best to ensure the priorities of the President… pic.twitter.com/2x3zC4lt19

Few of you could recognize the name ‘U.S. Agency for Global Media,” but you surely know their products. Don’t feel bad for not knowing the specifics of the agency, by the way. I couldn’t have named it until I looked it up. Here are the names you do know:
- Voice of America
- Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty
- Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Martí)
- Radio Free Asia
- Middle East Broadcasting Networks
The agency also runs the Open Technology Fund, which is supposed to enable free speech in places where it is not allowed. Imagine how useful that wasn’t under Joe Biden and how useful it will become under the new Trump administration. I suggest targeting Western Europe first, since free speech is on the wane there.
Donald Trump is THE free speech president.
It is shocking we need an executive order telling the government to stop violating the First Amendment.
This executive order is a great step towards protecting free speech, but Congress needs to step up and make these changes…

Bozell is a superb choice for this position. The VOA and these other outlets are the public face of the American government worldwide, and ensuring that the messaging they put out is ideologically aligned with the President is especially important.
I wouldn’t expect any of these media outlets to become pure Trump boosters, though. That would defeat the purpose over the long term. While the job is to portray the news in a way that is ideologically sympathetic with the views of the US government, it also has to remain largely credible. No Baghdad Bobs allowed, and I am certain that as a man who has fought ridiculous propaganda nearly all his life, Bozell understands that point, too.
One note of irony, of course, is that Bozell has been the face of the movement, fighting and exposing Pravda Media propaganda and now he will be in charge of American propaganda. After all, the mission is to spin the news to make America look good–everybody knows that, and it is no different in kind than what press secretaries do every day, but it is propaganda nonetheless.
Bozell has seen enough of it in his day, so he should be good at it.
