Selena Gomez Is Crying for the Wrong Cause [WATCH]

Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan pushed back against critics of President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies, calling on them to direct their outrage toward the victims of the border crisis.

Speaking on The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM Tuesday, Homan responded to Democrats and celebrities lamenting Trump’s deportation efforts, specifically addressing pop star Selena Gomez, who posted an emotional video apologizing to illegal immigrants before later removing it.

During the interview, Megyn Kelly played a clip of Gomez crying over Trump’s immigration policies, prompting Homan to redirect attention to the devastating consequences of an open border.

“I wish she’d message Mexico and other countries that this isn’t a way to enter the country legally, right? Quarter of a million Americans are dead from fentanyl that comes across that border. I’m sure many are fans of hers,” Homan said.

“600% increase in sex trafficking in women and children. There are women and children in this nation right now forced into sexual slavery. Some of these children won’t survive. So cry for them.”

Homan continued, emphasizing the toll illegal immigration has taken on American families.

“Cry for the quarter of a million Americans who died from fentanyl. Cry for the families — thousands of families in this nation who had a permanent separation with their children because they were killed by illegal aliens and they buried them,” he added.

“Help us secure the border, save lives, send a message out, this is not the way to come across the border.”

Trump wasted no time in addressing border security, signing a series of executive orders on January 20, his first day back in office. These orders included:

• Declaring a national emergency at the border
• Designating drug cartels as terrorist organizations
• Reinstating stricter ICE enforcement policies

Under Biden’s policies, ICE agents were often limited in their ability to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens, including those convicted of violent crimes.

Following Trump’s reversal of Biden-era restrictions, ICE has significantly increased enforcement efforts, focusing on removing dangerous individuals from U.S. communities.

Homan noted that more than 7 million illegal migrants crossed the border during the Biden-Harris administration, setting records for illegal border encounters.

He also pointed to the rise in fentanyl overdoses, driven by cartels exploiting weak border security.

“A secure border saves lives. When President Trump had illegal immigration down 90%, when 90% less people were coming, how many women didn’t get raped by the cartels? How many children didn’t drown in that river? How many Americans didn’t die from fentanyl because the borders were tight and secure and the border was all on table?” Homan asked.

He continued, highlighting the human trafficking crisis fueled by cartel operations.

“How many children weren’t found in pornographic movies and sex slavery? How many women weren’t forced into sexual slavery and massage parlors throughout this country? How many cartel members didn’t make it into this country to spread their poison throughout the nation?”

Addressing Gomez’s emotional reaction, Homan urged those with large platforms to use their influence to help secure the border rather than oppose enforcement efforts.

“Help us. You got a big platform. Help us save lives. A secure border saves lives,” he said.

He also defended legal immigration, calling those who cross illegally “cheaters” who take opportunities away from those following the legal process.

“As I said, there’s people in this world who are doing the right thing to come to the country the right way. These people are taking a front seat away from people who really deserve to come to this country,” Homan stated.

With the Trump administration’s full support, ICE agents have resumed nationwide immigration enforcement operations.

Over the past week, video footage captured the arrest of a Haitian gang member with 17 criminal convictions, who praised former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden as he was taken into custody.

On Sunday, ICE reported 956 arrests in a single day, significantly outpacing the Biden administration’s fiscal year 2024 daily average of 310 arrests.

As Trump’s immigration policies take full effect, the administration continues to prioritize deporting violent criminals, dismantling cartel operations, and restoring border security.

Homan reiterated that the goal is clear: saving lives by enforcing America’s immigration laws.
