Kash Patel Destroys Klobuchar’s Attack on His FBI Nomination [WATCH]

Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, stood firm against questioning from Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Patel, who previously served as the Department of Defense Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of National Intelligence, defended his record while rejecting Klobuchar’s attempts to corner him with pointed questions.

The Senate Judiciary Committee convened at 9:30 a.m. to begin Patel’s confirmation process.

His nomination comes as Republicans seek to reform the FBI and address concerns over political bias in federal law enforcement. Patel has already been working closely with House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on efforts to hold government agencies accountable.

“Mr. Patel is the right man for the job. He recognizes the importance of ending the weaponization of federal law enforcement and holding Deep State bureaucrats accountable. Change is here!” Comer stated prior to the hearing.

Despite Patel’s extensive experience in national security, Senate Democrats quickly pressed him with challenging questions.

Following an earlier exchange between Patel and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Klobuchar attempted to question Patel on his views regarding FBI leadership.

“Do you know under Chris Wray’s leadership, he took over at a very difficult time… During his tenure, applications to the FBI have tripled. Do you think that people would be applying to those agencies if, in fact, it was so corrupt?” Klobuchar asked.

Patel did not accept the premise of her question and responded by highlighting the declining public trust in the FBI.

He reminded the committee that confidence in the agency was at an all-time low.

Undeterred, Klobuchar pressed further, referencing a past statement attributed to Patel.

“Did you say that the FBI headquarters should be shut down and reopened as a Museum of the Deep State?” she asked.

At that moment, Patel pushed back against Klobuchar’s questioning, calling out what he described as mischaracterizations of his stance.

“Simply this: if the best attacks on me are going to be false accusations and grotesque mischaracterizations, the only thing this body is doing is defeating the credibility of the men and women at the FBI,” Patel fired back.

He then pointed to his own experience working alongside law enforcement and military personnel, emphasizing his commitment to the agency’s mission.

“I STOOD with them, here in this country, in every theater of war we have – I was on the ground in service,” Patel stated.

He also reminded the committee of his widespread support from law enforcement organizations across the country.

“And any accusations that I would put political bias before the Constitution are grotesquely unfair, and I will have you reminded I have been endorsed by over 300,000 law enforcement officers to become the next director of the FBI,” Patel added. “Let’s ask them.”

Patel’s confirmation process is expected to be contentious, with Senate Democrats raising concerns over his close ties to Trump and his commitment to overhauling the FBI.

However, Patel’s strong stance against political influence in federal law enforcement has earned him praise among Republicans and law enforcement officials.

The Judiciary Committee will continue reviewing Patel’s qualifications before advancing his nomination to the full Senate for a final vote.
