Podcast host Joe Rogan has responded to allegations from Kamala Harris’ campaign that he intentionally sabotaged interview negotiations before the 2024 election to favor Donald Trump, calling the claim an attempt to “cover their a**.”
The accusations surfaced in “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” a book by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, which detailed Harris’ campaign’s failure to secure an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” during the election cycle.
According to the book, the campaign alleged that Rogan’s team made unreasonable demands, including declining an October 25th meeting due to Rogan’s “personal day.”

The campaign later claimed they discovered Rogan had hosted Trump on that same day, despite allegedly refusing to schedule Harris.
On Wednesday’s episode of his podcast, Rogan denied the accusation, saying that Harris’ team never actually committed to the interview.
“We have all the receipts, by the way,” Rogan said.
“I have a whole list of conversations that took place. They never said she was going to do it. This whole idea that we f**ked her over and we f**ked her over for Trump—incorrect, just not true.”
Rogan also addressed claims that his team had been difficult to negotiate with, including Harris’ campaign objecting to conducting the interview at his Austin, Texas studio.
He explained that his request was simply to keep the show authentic and prevent it from turning into a staged political event.
“We were super easy. But also, it’s got to be the actual real show. It shouldn’t be some fake version where I’m sitting in a conference room,” Rogan said.
Rogan revealed that Harris’ team had requested additional accommodations, including bringing a stenographer and campaign staff into the room during the interview.
“Oh, also, they wanted a stenographer in the room. They wanted staff in the room. Trump was just in here by himself. Just me, him, and Jamie. That’s it. For three hours,” Rogan explained.
“They wanted to do everything. They wanted it very controlled, and they were really concerned that [the podcast] wasn’t going to be edited. So I don’t think they ever really were sure they wanted to do it.”
Rogan speculated that the controversy may stem from the impact of his three-hour interview with Trump, which went viral just weeks before the election.
“I think it’s someone trying to cover their a** for the fact that she never did it, and if she did do it, it might have had a positive effect,” Rogan said.
“[If] her and I had a good time, we got along great, and she won over ‘young male vote,’ things could have been different. So this guy’s probably trying to cover his a**.”

In the final days leading up to the election, Rogan gave a last-minute endorsement of Trump, adding to speculation that his decision not to host Harris may have influenced voter perceptions.
While the Harris campaign continues to suggest that Rogan’s actions were politically motivated, the podcast host maintains that their narrative does not match reality.
