Democrat’s Impeachment Push Backfires During Live C-SPAN Call [WATCH]

Just weeks into former President Donald Trump’s second term, Democrats have once again begun floating the idea of impeachment.

Leading the charge is Rep. Al Green (D-TX), a longtime advocate for removing Trump from office, who took to the House floor this week to call for impeachment proceedings.

Green, who previously pushed for Trump’s removal multiple times during his first term, wasted no time in making his case.

On Tuesday, Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and suggested that the United States should take control of the Gaza Strip.

Green responded by accusing the president of promoting “ethnic cleansing” and demanding his impeachment.

“The movement to impeach the president has begun,” Green announced on the House floor.

“I rise to announce that I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”

Green continued, arguing that Trump’s remarks regarding Gaza were unacceptable.

“Ethnic cleansing is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the president of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, when he has the ability to perfect what he says. Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke, and the prime minister of Israel should be ashamed knowing the history of his people,” Green stated.

Green’s impeachment threats are nothing new.

In 2017, just months into Trump’s first term, Green declared on the House floor, “This is about my position. This is about what I believe. And this is where I stand. I will not be moved. The President must be impeached.”

By July of that year, he had co-sponsored an article of impeachment with Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) over allegations connected to the now-debunked Russia collusion claims.

Green continued his impeachment push during an appearance on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal Thursday morning.

However, he was immediately challenged by a Republican caller from Savannah, Georgia, who criticized Democrats for their repeated focus on impeachment.

“Thank you. I watched you yesterday with the Democrat Party, Al, protesting everything that Elon Musk is trying to do for the American people.

The USAID is 100 percent a money laundering scheme around the world, kickbacks back to the Democrat Party, whether it’s to the Clinton Foundation in Haiti—$4.4 billion and $84 million went to her daughter, Chelsea Clinton,” the caller stated.

“All y’all have is impeachment, and race, and gender, etc. And you actually do nothing for the people of America today. I think the Democrats should sit back and let America see what it’s like to reduce the people in government, the wasteful spending. All y’all can do is just complain and be negative. We are sick of it.”

Democrats’ repeated attempts to impeach Trump have become a defining feature of their opposition strategy.

Green, in particular, has been one of the most vocal advocates, even admitting in 2019 that impeachment was a necessary political tool for Democrats.

As the new Trump administration moves forward, it remains to be seen whether Green’s impeachment push will gain any traction.

However, with Trump back in office and Republicans controlling the House, the likelihood of Democrats succeeding in their latest effort appears slim.

For many Americans, the repeated impeachment efforts underscore a broader pattern—Democrats resorting to the same playbook rather than focusing on governance.

With Trump once again at the helm, it seems that some things in Washington never change.
