Newly revealed court documents indicate that an FBI informant allegedly stole $190,000 from a January 6 protester, with the agency failing to take action against him.

The accusations come from Jared Wise, a former FBI agent and Project Veritas contractor, who detailed the alleged misconduct in a motion filed in December.

Wise, who was arrested in 2023 but had his charges dropped in January, has raised concerns over how the FBI handles its informants, suggesting that the agency knowingly allowed a criminal to operate in order to protect its own interests.

Dennis Quaid’s #1 Warning for Americans

He addressed these claims publicly on his Twitter/X account and in an exclusive interview with Headline USA.

According to Wise’s court filing, the informant—identified as Gregory Edmont de la Doucette—allegedly defrauded him through a real estate deal in France.

Wise stated that in 2020, he invested in French real estate with Doucette, a U.S. citizen living in France.

The deal was finalized in September 2021, but Wise soon became suspicious about the security of his investment.

As Wise began questioning Doucette about the transaction, he claimed Doucette turned to the FBI, providing information that implicated Wise in the events of January 6. Wise’s motion alleges that Doucette acted out of self-preservation.

“In January 2022, GED provided information to the FBI that Wise was present in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021. GED provided information about Wise to the FBI to protect himself from the consequences of his own crime against Wise, as he began to realize that Wise was uncovering GED’s fraud,” Wise stated.

“GED correctly believed that providing information to the FBI about Wise (GED’s own victim) and J6 would help inoculate himself from any liability related to his own scheme to defraud Wise.”

Despite Wise’s efforts to report Doucette’s alleged fraudulent activity, he claims the FBI ignored his complaints.

Wise was arrested in May 2023 but continued attempting to bring the allegations against Doucette to the agency’s attention.

Instead of investigating, the FBI allegedly worked to prevent Wise from making contact with Doucette.

In August 2024, the FBI reportedly attempted to file additional charges against Wise in connection with his communications with Doucette about the alleged fraud.

However, the attempt was unsuccessful.

Following this, Wise’s court motion states that the government modified his release conditions to prohibit him from contacting Doucette, either directly or indirectly.

The person (“G.E.D.” in court documents) who reported me to the @FBI for #J6 did so only after I began to realize he had stolen a large portion of my life savings via a complex fraud scheme and I started to confront him. Wise argues that the FBI was shielding Doucette because of his role as an informant.

“If the FBI were to meet with Wise and accept the information implicating GED in a complex international fraud scheme of at least $190,000 (and possibly up to $700,000 with an additional victim as alleged by a third party with direct knowledge), it would create a complicated situation in which it would need to account for criminal activity by one of its sources, and the information might also impact the prosecution of Wise,” Wise wrote in his filing.

He further alleged that the agency’s reluctance to act mirrored past instances where the FBI protected informants with criminal backgrounds.

“Wise avers that the FBI is knowingly protecting one of its sources who has conducted criminal activity, which is reminiscent of the FBI protecting mob boss Whitey Bulger for many years,” the motion stated.

Wise’s accusations add to growing concerns over the FBI’s handling of informants and its broader approach to January 6-related cases.

The allegations raise questions about whether the agency selectively enforces justice while protecting individuals who serve its interests.

As the case continues to unfold, scrutiny over the FBI’s internal operations and informant network is likely to intensify.
