The newly appointed Health and Human Services Secretary posted the oddball snapshot on Sunday, grinning as he held up a Northern Curly Tailed Lizard while standing beside Russell Brand and Dr. Mehmet Oz, as reported by The New York Post.
“Northern Curly Tailed Lizard with Russell Brand & Dr. Oz,” Kennedy, 71, captioned the picture. Because nothing says responsible leadership quite like a reptile cameo.

The lizard in question is native to Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and the Bahamas, but was introduced to Florida in the 1940s—much like the modern-day swamp creatures in Washington.
Kennedy, however, doesn’t just dabble in political wildness; his history of strange animal encounters is practically a sideshow in itself.
Just days before his latest stunt, Kennedy was officially sworn in as HHS Secretary by Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.
