Trump Moves to Make IVF Affordable [WATCH]

In a major move to support family growth, former President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at making in vitro fertilization (IVF) more accessible and affordable.

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, the order directs the Domestic Policy Council to deliver a detailed report within 90 days, outlining strategies to ensure reliable IVF access while tackling the hefty price tag that puts treatment out of reach for many aspiring parents.

The cost of IVF currently ranges between $12,000 and $25,000 per cycle, with most couples requiring multiple rounds to conceive successfully. Despite the growing demand, insurance coverage for IVF remains sparse—only about a quarter of employers offer it, and state-mandated support is inconsistent.

Meanwhile, the federal government only provides limited coverage for military personnel, veterans, and federal employees, leaving most Americans to shoulder the financial burden alone.

Statistics from the Department of Health and Human Services show that more than 85,000 babies were born through IVF in 2021. Yet, the nation’s fertility rate continues to slide, dropping another 3% in 2023—a trend that has persisted since 2014.

Trump’s executive order builds on his previous pro-family policies, including legislation that allows new parents to withdraw up to $5,000 from their retirement savings without penalty for the birth or adoption of a child.

He made his stance clear, saying:

“Because we want more babies, to put it very nicely. And for this same reason, we will also allow new parents to deduct major newborn expenses from their taxes, so that parents that have a beautiful baby will be able, so we’re pro family. But the IVF treatments are expensive. It’s very hard for many people to do it and to get it, but I’ve been in favor of IVF, right from the beginning.”

Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) praised the executive order, calling it a game-changer for families struggling with infertility.

“IVF is fundamentally pro-family, helping aspiring parents across our nation start and grow their families. I couldn’t be happier to see President Trump take this landmark step to expand access to this pathway to parenthood. I remain grateful for President Trump’s bold leadership on this issue. IVF will be more affordable and accessible for loving American families thanks to President Trump.”

Britt also took a swipe at Democrats for misleading attacks on conservatives regarding IVF.

“President Trump is, once again, keeping his promises to the American people. I look forward to introducing legislation in the Senate advancing the Trump Administration’s pro-family agenda for the millions of Americans facing infertility who dream of building a family. Republicans will continue to fight for hardworking families and deliver real results.”

Democrats, however, continue to push a different narrative. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who has repeatedly weaponized his family’s infertility struggles for political points, launched an attack on Republicans, claiming they want to restrict IVF access.

In August, Walz accused Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, of wanting to block families from accessing the treatment, saying, “If it was up to JD Vance, I wouldn’t have a family because of IVF.”

He went on to ramble about Democrat-led initiatives like universal pre-K and government-funded school meals, attempting to position his party as the only one that supports families.

But the narrative collapsed when Vance fired back, exposing Walz’s claims as outright fabrications. “Today it came out that Tim Walz had lied about having a family via IVF. Who lies about something like that?” Vance stated.

Even Walz’s own wife, Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, later admitted in a statement to CNN that she had not conceived through IVF, further discrediting his outlandish accusations.

As usual, Democrats are more interested in political theatrics than real solutions. Meanwhile, President Trump and conservative leaders continue to fight for policies that actually benefit American families, putting the needs of parents and children ahead of party propaganda.
