Not long after Trump’s declaration, Musk echoed his support on X, formerly Twitter. Responding to Ramaswamy’s announcement, the Tesla and SpaceX chief kept it simple: “Good luck, you have my full endorsement!”

Ramaswamy, once considered a rising star in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, dropped out to back Trump and became a key surrogate in his campaign.
More recently, he was tapped to help lead Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a cost-cutting initiative in the new administration. However, he stepped away from the position before Inauguration Day to focus on his gubernatorial run.
His departure from DOGE sparked rumors of a rift between him and Musk, though Ramaswamy has denied any bad blood. Now, with both Trump and Musk’s endorsements in hand, he’s making it clear he’s all in on leading Ohio.
Ramaswamy launched his campaign with a rally in Cincinnati, speaking to an enthusiastic crowd about restoring Ohio’s former greatness.
“I will lead Ohio to become the state of excellence in America.”
“Think that sounds unrealistic? It’s not. In fact, it wasn’t long ago that Ohio was that state. Today, young people on the internet make fun of something by saying ‘That’s so Ohio.’ But less than a century ago, people weren’t making fun of Ohio, they were aspiring to be Ohio.”
With Ohio’s current Republican Governor, Mike DeWine term-limited, the race to replace him is already heating up.

Ramaswamy’s entry, coupled with backing from Trump and Musk, positions him as a frontrunner in what could become one of the most-watched gubernatorial races in the country.
