During a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Tesla CEO Elon Musk outlined how left-wing billionaire George Soros has been exploiting American taxpayers through non-profit organizations (NGOs) that receive government funding while pushing his political agenda.
Musk, who also leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), described how these organizations secure taxpayer money with little to no oversight.
Musk explained that Soros has effectively “hacked the system” by using small donations to establish NGOs that then lobby the government for substantial funding.

These organizations, according to Musk, function as vehicles to channel taxpayer money toward political causes under the guise of humanitarian or social efforts.
“It’s a gigantic scam—one of the biggest, maybe the biggest scam ever,” Musk told Rogan during the interview.
Rogan then asked about the number of NGOs currently in operation.
“I think the total number of NGOs is probably in the millions, but in terms of large NGOs—tens of thousands,” Musk responded.

Musk went on to explain how Soros mastered the process of setting up NGOs to take advantage of government funding mechanisms.
“It’s actually kind of a hack to the system where someone can get an NGO stood up for a fairly small amount of money. George Soros was really good at this. He’s like a system hacker. He figured out how to hack the system. He’s a genius at arbitrage. I mean, these days, he’s pretty old, but he was a genius at arbitrage,” Musk said.
“He figured out that you could leverage a small amount of money to create a nonprofit, then lobby politicians to send a ton of money to that nonprofit. So you can take what might be a $10 million donation to create a nonprofit and leverage that into a billion-dollar NGO.”
Musk also pointed out that the term “nonprofit” can be misleading, as many NGOs continue to receive substantial funding from the government every year with little scrutiny.
“‘Nonprofit’ is a weird word. It’s just a non-governmental organization. The government continues to fund it every year, and it’ll have a nice-sounding name like The Institute for Peace or something like that. But really, it’s a graft machine,” he explained.
Rogan then pressed Musk on what requirements NGOs must meet in order to receive government funding.
“Really, no requirements at all,” Musk stated.

Musk’s comments come as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he heads, continues investigating how taxpayer funds are funneled through NGOs.
DOGE has been looking into how federal grant money is distributed and whether these organizations have been used to support partisan agendas.
The exposure of these funding mechanisms has sparked concern among Democratic politicians, many of whom have relied on these groups for political activism, policy advocacy, and election-related efforts.
With DOGE’s findings shedding light on these financial channels, scrutiny over how NGOs operate with taxpayer money is expected to increase.
Musk’s remarks underscore broader concerns about government accountability in funding non-governmental organizations, particularly those with political influence.
As investigations continue, the future of these funding streams may face significant challenges.
