SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly called out several Democratic senators on Tuesday, urging that they be politically targeted in upcoming elections after voting against a bill that would have barred biological males from competing in women’s sports.
On Monday evening, Senate Democrats blocked the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, introduced by Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.
The bill, which aimed to prevent transgender athletes from competing in female sports categories, was struck down in a 51-45 vote along party lines, failing to advance past a cloture vote.
Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
During The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly argued that while Democrats in deep-blue states would likely face no consequences for their opposition, vulnerable swing-state senators should be financially targeted to remove them from office.
She called on billionaire Elon Musk, a vocal critic of transgender ideology in sports, to help fund efforts to unseat these lawmakers in the midterm elections.
Kelly named multiple Democratic senators she believes should face electoral consequences, beginning with Arizona’s two senators.
“Here are the true villains, the ones who are in swing states who must be targeted. I’m begging Elon to use some of his money, and he’s 100% with me on this issue, 100% with me,” Kelly said.
“I beg you to use some of your money to help defeat the following people. Arizona, both of them have to go — Ruben Gallego, it should have been Kari Lake anyway, she would have voted the right way. Mark Kelly, who I liked and who I still have a personal affinity for. I’m sorry, you need to go. If I could wave my magic wand, you’re fired, sir, because you voted the wrong way.”
She continued by calling out senators from Georgia and Michigan.
“Georgia — Jon Ossoff, who’s got a daughter but doesn’t seem to give two shits about what happens to her on the sports field. Raphael Warnock, who I think is going soon anyway. Michigan — Gary Peters [and] Elissa Slotkin, you have to go too. You didn’t show up. You didn’t think it was important enough, even though you’re one of the women in the Senate, to show up and support young girls trying to work their way up the power chain behind you,” Kelly said.
She then turned her attention to Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who has positioned himself as an outsider willing to challenge his own party on certain issues.
“Nevada — Catherine Cortez Masto, you too. Jacky Rosen, gone, if I have anything to say about it. Pennsylvania, fuck you, John Fetterman! You act like you’re a man of the people. You’re going to look out for the weak. You get it. You don’t get shit. You really don’t,” she continued.
“That part of your brain still appears to be injured because you’re going to let all these little girls go out there and get a traumatic brain injury. You of all people who understand what a brain injury can do. Screw you and your working-class appeal.”
She concluded by criticizing Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin, recalling her performance during confirmation hearings.
“Then there’s Wisconsin’s Tammy Baldwin, who exposed herself as a complete idiot in those confirmation hearings that I went down to. She was one of the dopiest people we saw up there,” Kelly said.
“I’m not surprised she landed in the wrong place. But those are swing-state Democratic senators who ruined the protection of girls and women thanks to their votes on this issue. They ought to be targeted, and they ought to be made to pay at the ballot box the next chance we get.”
The vote against Tuberville’s bill comes after President Donald Trump took early action to define gender in federal policy.
On his first day back in office, Trump signed an executive order affirming that the U.S. government recognizes only two sexes, male and female.
He followed this with another order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” reinforcing policies to protect female athletes from competing against biological males.
The bill’s defeat means that federal protections sought by Republicans to codify Trump’s order into law remain stalled in the Senate.
However, Kelly’s push to highlight vulnerable Democratic senators’ votes could factor into campaign strategies ahead of the next election cycle.
Polling suggests that most Americans support bans on biological men competing in women’s sports.
A Harvard CAPS Harris Poll conducted on February 19-20 found that 69% of Americans support banning men who have undergone hormone therapy or surgeries to transition into women from competing in female sports.
The survey showed bipartisan agreement, with 50% of Democrats, 86% of Republicans, and 70% of independents supporting the restriction.
Despite broad public support, Senate Democrats blocked the measure, setting the stage for the issue to be revisited in future legislative battles and campaign platforms.
