GOP Rep. Luna Demands DOJ Stop Hiding Epstein Files—Where’s the Transparency? [WATCH]

Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release the full set of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, demanding transparency from Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Luna made the remarks Friday during an appearance on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” where she criticized the DOJ’s lack of movement on the matter.

The demand follows the recent release of the first batch of Epstein Files, which consisted of over 100 pages but contained little new information.

On Monday, Bondi revealed that the DOJ had received thousands of additional documents that had not been previously disclosed.

During her interview, Luna, who chairs the House Oversight Committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, confirmed that Congress has not been given much information regarding the documents’ release.

“I feel the same way that you do, Jesse. I’m very frustrated, just like many Americans are. I think that those lists need to be released to the American people. That’s really up to the decision of Attorney General Pam Bondi,” Luna said.

Pam Bondi recognizes family and friends in attendance as she delivers opening remarks during a Senate Judiciary committee hearing on her nomination to be Attorney General of the United States on Jan. 15, 2025 in Washington, D.C.

“I can tell you that as a member of Congress, we have not really gotten much communication from the Department of Justice.”

She added that House Republicans plan to continue pressuring the DOJ for transparency.

“But we are going to be continuing to put pressure because when the American people elected President Trump, they demanded transparency. And frankly, it’s disturbing that more people aren’t in jail for the crimes that were committed for trafficking people,” Luna said.

“That’s exactly what Jeffrey Epstein did. So I hope that she releases those files in entirety. I frankly hope that she brings charges because what happened should have never been acceptable, and people belong in jail.”

During a February 26 interview on Fox News, Bondi had promised the public would begin to see “some” of Epstein’s files.

She noted that the documents were supposed to contain flight logs, names, and other critical information related to Epstein’s activities.

Epstein, who was arrested in 2019 on sex trafficking charges, was later found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.

However, the DOJ and Bondi soon faced online criticism after images surfaced of conservative influencers posing outside the West Wing with a binder labeled “The Epstein Files: Phase 1.” Many questioned whether the files being released were substantial or just a fraction of the real evidence.

In response, the DOJ issued a statement explaining that Bondi had been informed of additional evidence that had not been previously disclosed.

By Monday, she told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the DOJ had officially received “a truckload of evidence” and was now reviewing the documents.

Despite these developments, it remains unclear when the DOJ plans to release the remaining files or if further names and details will be made public.

House Republicans, including Luna, continue to demand full transparency, arguing that the American people deserve to see the full scope of Epstein’s connections.
