X Hit by ‘Massive’ Cyberattack—Musk Points to Coordinated Attackers

Tech mogul Elon Musk is warning that his social media platform, X, has been hit with an intense cyberattack, suggesting that the scale of the assault points to a well-funded and highly coordinated effort, as reported by Fox Business.

“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X,” Musk wrote on the platform. “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …”

While details remain sparse, X users reported periodic outages on Monday morning, further fueling concerns about the platform’s vulnerability to hostile actors.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’

Given that X—formerly known as Twitter—has been a battleground for free speech under Musk’s leadership, it’s hardly surprising that such a large-scale attack would be launched against it.

Musk, who also heads the Trump administration’s newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has been at the center of political and technological controversies since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.

He rebranded the platform as X in July 2023, positioning it as an alternative to the mainstream social media giants that have long engaged in censorship and left-wing political interference.

The timing of this cyberattack raises eyebrows, especially as Musk’s other major company, Tesla, faces coordinated “takedown” protests at facilities across the country.

Musk has not minced words about who he believes is behind these efforts, pointing the finger at leftist billionaire George Soros, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and other high-profile Democrat donors bankrolling the demonstrations.

It’s no secret that Musk’s companies—including SpaceX—are deeply intertwined with the federal government, holding billions of dollars in defense contracts.

That relationship, combined with Musk’s efforts to reform bloated government spending through DOGE, has likely made him a prime target for political and ideological attacks.

President Donald Trump has praised Musk’s leadership, particularly through DOGE, as his administration focuses on eliminating wasteful government spending and saving taxpayers billions of dollars.

Musk’s bold approach to both private industry and government reform has ruffled plenty of feathers among the leftist elite, but it has also cemented his status as one of the most influential figures in tech and policy.

As X works to fend off this cyber assault, the bigger question remains: who is behind it, and what is their ultimate goal?

Given the current climate of political and technological warfare, Musk’s assertion that a large, coordinated entity—possibly a hostile nation-state—is involved shouldn’t be taken lightly.
