Oregon Governor Tina Kotek wants to wish you a Happy “Abortion Appreciation Day.”
The Governor inaugurated her new holiday with a photoshoot, signing the proclamation amid a gaggle of beaming advocates and abortionists. In their midst was Dr. Sara Kennedy.
Kennedy was appointed CEO of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) on March 4, 2024. PPCW boasts itself as the “largest nonprofit sexual and reproductive health care provider in Oregon and SW Washington,” operating in Vancouver, Washington, Ontario, Portland, and Bend.
“The majority of our visits actually have nothing to do with abortion,” Kennedy claimed in a 2024 interview, “It’s just on keeping people healthy and helping them access basic human care.”
In an interview just two months later, Oregon Business reported: “according to Kennedy, 80% of the visits to the clinic are abortion-related.”

Governor Kotek’s press release refers to her November directive to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to stockpile three years’ worth of Mifepristone, the most common means of inducing a chemical abortion in the United States. Chemical abortions made up 63% of documented abortions in the US in 2023, according to one pro-abortion research group.
Kennedy describes Mifepristone as the “most effective and evidence based way for patients to deliver medication abortion.” The safety of Mifepristone was the subject of a case before the Supreme Court in 2023, wherein pro-life plaintiffs accused the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of bypassing safety protocols in prescribing the drug without requiring an initial in-person visit. Also pictured with Kotek was Angele Kirk, Health Center Manager at PPCW. Kirk’s most recent credits include a 2024 opinion piece honoring “the resilience and importance of Black women’s lives.” The ones who make it out of the womb, anyway.
“Building equitable health care entails listening to Black women,” Kirk writes. “When Black women thrive, we all thrive.”
One speculates whether Kirk’s understanding of “thriving” involves Sanger-style enthusiasm for black abortions.
Missing from Kotek’s press release is the word “woman.” An easy oversight, to be sure, when discussing matters of pregnancy. Kennedy prefers the laborious “people who can become pregnant.” But this is little surprise, given her pride in “taking care of our trans folks and our trans communities.”
Kennedy’s interest in “trans folks” starts young. She has praised the so-called “Healthy Youth Act,” saying, “we contribute to that by educating any school or school system that wants to work with us.” (RELATED: Planned Parenthood’s Trans Hormone Business Is Booming, Creating Thousands Of New Patients ‘For Life’ | The Daily Caller)
A convenient contribution for a profiteer of human suffering.
