Trump Flames Rosie O’Donnell When Asked About Exodus To Ireland

President Donald Trump interjected Wednesday when a reporter asked Prime Minister of Ireland Micheál Martin why his country allowed Rosie O’Donnell to move there after the White House reportedly celebrated her departure.

“Ireland is known for very happy, fun-loving people,” the reporter said. “Why in the world would you let Rosie O’Donnell move to Ireland? Think she’s going to lower your happiness level.”

“That’s true,” Trump declared as the prime minister laughed. “Thank you, I like that question.”

REPORTER: “Ireland is known for very happy, fun loving people … Why in the world would you let Rosie O’Donnell move to Ireland!?”@POTUS: “Did you know you have Rosie O’Donnell? Do you know who she is?”

“Do you know who she is?” the president continued, turning to Martin, who appeared to say, “yes.”

“You’re better off not knowing,” Trump concluded.

White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers spoke with TMZ on Wednesday and said there was no love lost over her departure. “Promises made, promises kept. Good riddance!” the spokesperson told the outlet.

O’Donnell told fans she ditched America for her ancestral homeland of Ireland in a TikTok video posted March 11. She revealed she and her daughter had officially moved to Ireland in pursuit of a new life as a result of the political climate.

O’Donnell’s nearly 10-minute-long video described her move and her desire to obtain Irish citizenship, in part because her grandparents were born in the country. She claimed the political situation in the U.S. was why she uprooted her family.

“When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” she said. “It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well.”

O’Donnell added, “The personal is political, as we all know.”

Trump and O’Donnell have both taken public shots at one another in the past. When Megyn Kelly said Trump referred to women as a “fat pig,” a “dog” and a “slob,” he said he only called O’Donnell those.

He called O’Donnell a “real loser” when she referred to him as a “snake-oil salesman on ‘Little House On The Prairie’” back in the 2000s. (RELATED: Trump Does Everyone A Favor And Forces Irrelevant Talk Show Host To Leave Country)

It’s unclear if O’Donnell ever plans to return to America, but it certainly doesn’t appear she’ll be doing so during Trump’s second term in office.
