An image shared on Facebook claims U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett has purportedly refused to submit to a lawful audit by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The claim is false and originally stems from a March 7 post shared by “America’s Last Line of Defense,” which is a satirical Facebook page.

Fact Check:

Trump defended Coney Barrett, saying “she’s very smart” and “a very good woman” following attacks from conservatives over a recent Supreme Court decision in which she sided with the liberal justices, according to The Hill. Trump made the remark while speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on March 9, the outlet reported.

The Facebook image claims Coney Barrett has purportedly refused to submit to a lawful audit by DOGE. “Amy Coney Barrett has refused to submit to a lawful audit by DOGE. What is she hiding?” text superimposed on the image of Coney Barrett reads.

The claim is false and originally stems from a March 7 post shared by “America’s Last Line of Defense,” which is a satirical Facebook page. The Facebook page describes itself as “the flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery and propaganda for cash” before reiterating that “nothing on this page is real.” The original post has received 1,000 likes as of writing.

Likewise, DOGE has not referenced the claim on its website or its verified X account @DOGE. Tesla CEO and DOGE lead Elon Musk has not publicly commented on the claim. President Donald Trump has not addressed the claim using his personal or government X accounts or his TRUTH Social account.

Coney Barrett recently drew ire from Trump-aligned conservatives after she sided with the Supreme Court’s liberal justices on a ruling “that the Trump administration must abide by a lower court order to unfreeze $2 billion in foreign aid,” according to Newsweek.
