Who Could Have Guessed? Mr. FAFO Accused of Fraud By Palestinian Health Ministry

Mr. FAFO is a fraud? Who could have guessed that such a thing is possible?

You may recall Mr. FAFO, the Gazan “influencer” and crisis actor who the left pretends to love and believe because he cosplays victims of outrageous Israeli perfidy. He has played a journalist, a dead person, a grieving father, a doctor, and just about anything else you can think of in videos that are pure anti-Israeli propaganda. 

For a guy living in a war zone, he sure has built up quite a lot of skills and manages to be in many places at once.

Mr. FAFO is so ridiculously bad at his cosplay that it has turned into a sick kind of camp performance, and he has managed to develop a huge following online, many so credulous as to believe Mr. FAFO and send him money despite his seeming to be a very happy guy when not involved in getting his children killed, being killed himself, or fake “reporting” on these events.

FAFO’s cosplay may be ridiculous, but his videos appear all the time on Pravda Media as if they were real. It became a sport for internet sleuths to find FAFO in “news” reports on the cable and network channels, and he often did. If the video was good, why not? Pravda Media is as much propaganda as Hamas cosplay, right?

Mr FAFO survived the war, in which he died many times, came back to life even more, and became a professional in at least 20 different job roles.

Well, credulous people were taken for a ride, according to the Palestinian Authority, the government of the West Bank (and theoretically of the Palestinian people, although Hamas runs Gaza). 

Shockingly, this man is a fraud!

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah has accused Gazan influencer Saleh Al Jafarawi — known on the internet as ‘Mr. FAFO’ – of embezzling funds intended for rebuilding Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital.

Earlier this week, Jafarawi uploaded a video showing him and several other Gazan influencers locking themselves in a studio, announcing that they were raising 10 million dollars and claiming that the Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah had provided him with the number as a goal. 

The campaign included the health ministry’s logo as well as the Kuwait Society for Relief.

However, the health ministry quickly issued a statement denying any connection to the campaign.

“The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirms that it is not responsible for any campaign to collect donations for the benefit of the Gaza Strip, and that it is not a partner in any campaign to donate and collect funds carried out by some activists on social media,” the ministry stated on its social media.

The ministry also warned against using its name or slogan for fundraising purposes “under the threat of legal liability.”

The Kuwait Society for Relief has not issued a statement on the campaign, which currently has 9.9 million dollars, but there is not currently an active campaign to rebuild the hospital on their site.

It’s unclear if Mr. FAFO is pocketing the money, giving it to Hamas, or some combination of the two, which seems most likely. As a Hamas propagandist he probably doesn’t want to face the wrath of the terrorists he works for. 

Still, a cut of $10 million in Gaza is not a bad haul. Unless you are a top-tier actor like Tom Cruise or Ryan Reynolds, the pay is pretty slim even in Hollywood.

I am a bit disappointed he didn’t run his charity campaign through ActBlue, since they would seem to be the perfect platform to support crisis actors ripping off the masses with fake appeals for fake causes to launder money to evil people. 

It would be a match made in heaven. 

Since October 7, Jafarawi has been seen in many Gazan propaganda “Pallywood” videos, posing as a foster father, a surgeon, a ‘freedom fighter,’ a suspiciously moving corpse, and more.

Despite his consistent presence on social media, Jafarawi has been listed as a “martyr” on the site ourgaza, though his date of death is missing.

“The date of his death is missing.” 

They would have to put up several, since apparently he has died on video at least four times. 

Expect to see FAFO living it up, perhaps in a nicer part of Gaza, or perhaps in Cairo where those sweet dollars he scammed will go far. Qatar is too expensive for a mere millionaire to live it up. 

FAFO, in himself, doesn’t matter much. In the midst of all the real pain caused by the Gaza war, one war profiteer or propaganda more or less is a minor matter. 

But he does serve as a reminder that it isn’t just Hamas that engages in such things–they have collaborators in the West.

Don’t think for a moment that the BBC or other “news” outlets don’t know they are collaborating with Hamas. They know it, they play along, and worst of all, the propaganda works on those who don’t dig into reality.
