The claim is false and originally stems from a March 11 post shared by “America’s Last Line of Defense,” which is a satirical Facebook page.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has signed an agreement with DOGE to cut its workforce by 10,000 employees, according to CNBC, which cited Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. DeJoy said the agreement will allow DOGE to help the USPS “[identify] and [achieve] further efficiencies,” the outlet reported.
The Facebook image claims Musk and DOGE will purportedly audit Congress by “direct order of the President.” “Elon and DOGE will Audit Congress by Direct Order of the President,” text superimposed onto the image reads. “We need to find the corruption and weed it out,” a second set of text follows.
The claim is false and originally stems from a March 11 post shared by “America’s Last Line of Defense,” which is a satirical Facebook page. The Facebook page describes itself as “the flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery and propaganda for cash” before reiterating that “nothing on this page is real.” The original post has received over 500 likes as of writing.
Likewise, Check Your Fact performed an advanced search of Musk’s verified X account @elonmusk and did not find any reference to the claim. The claim also does not appear on DOGE’s website or its verified X account @DOGE. President Donald Trump does not appear to have commented on the claim using his personal or government X accounts or his TRUTH Social account. The White House has not publicly addressed the claim, either.
