New Mexico GOP Headquarters Entrance Hit In Seemingly ‘Deliberate Act Of Arson’

The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) said Sunday the entryway to their Albuquerque headquarters was “destroyed in a deliberate act of arson.”

The apparent attack was “fueled by hatred and intolerance,” the RPNM said in a statement. Rather than being an isolated incident, the party claimed the damage is “a direct assault on our values, freedoms, and our right to political expression.”

Officials included photos of the burned building showing damage to an entryway and soot on the walkway. Another photo shows “ICE=KKK” written on the headquarters’ wall in red spray paint.

The RPNM also blamed the “silence and implicit encouragement” of progressive leaders for the occurrence of politically motivated violence around the U.S. (RELATED: Gov. Sununu Pushes Back Against Don Lemon’s Attempt To Blame Republicans For Political Violence)

“Their failure to stand against political violence has created an environment where attacks like this are not only possible but increasingly frequent,” the statement continues.

“We are deeply relieved that no one was harmed in what could have been a tragic and deadly attack. Those who resort to violence to undermine our state and nation must be held accountable, and our state leaders must reinforce through decisive action that these cowardly attacks will not be tolerated,” RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela said in the statement.

Barela added that the party is working with local and federal officials, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as the incident remains under investigation.

“The Republican Party of New Mexico will not be silenced. We will emerge from this stronger, more united, and more determined to fight for the people of New Mexico and the future of our country,” she continued. “Our fight is not just for our party—it’s for every New Mexican who wants a safer, freer, and more accountable state. We will never back down.”
