The FBI certainly has come a long way from surrounding pro-life activists with a dozen armed agents in dawn raids over a sidewalk dispute, eh? All it took for a renewed focus on real law enforcement was a new president … and a new crop of psychotic morons rage-posting on social media.

Last night, Bill Melugin reported on the arraignment of Robert King, whom FBI agents arrested after a tip. King allegedly threatened to assassinate Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and attempted to recruit others to the cause. King didn’t have much luck influencing friends, keeping family on his side, or amusing the Department of Justice (via Twitchy):

NEW: The Texas man who allegedly threatened to shoot & kill ICE agents & urged his followers to do the same left a federal courtroom crying today after he was ordered held in detention, with the magistrate determining he is a threat and a flight risk, according to our @FoxNews… pic.twitter.com/C6OYChg7T1

In an oh-so-amusing twist, it turns out that King’s brother-in-law and landlord used to work as a Customs and Border Patrol agent. Oops!

Additionally, federal prosecutors said they learned about Robert King’s alleged threats via the national FBI tip line. He had been living with his sister and brother in law, who is a Mesquite police officer and former CBP agent. Upon learning of the social media posts, the brother in law threw him out of the house.

Gee, I wonder who might have called the FBI’s tip line. Hmmm. It might also partly explain why King left the courtroom crying.

The DoJ certainly took it seriously, too. They filed a felony indictment under 18 USC 875(c) for transmitting threats over “interstate communications,” a crime which carries up to five years in prison per count:

Robert Wilson King, 35, was charged on April 3, 2025, via criminal complaint with transmitting an interstate threat. King made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Renée Harris Toliver this morning and was detained pending a detention hearing set for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

According to the complaint, on March 29, 2025, King allegedly posted a threat on a social media platform, stating, “If I see ICE agents in my neighborhood I’m opening fire. It’s time to stop being p****** and put the second amendment to work.  ICE are not real cops, they are a secret police force with no real legal authority. Kill them.”

Later, King allegedly posted on another social media platform that he wanted to “double down” on his threat to shoot and kill ICE agents.

Interestingly, the indictment only shows one count, even though the DoJ includes two separate communications within the charging document that contain explicit threats of violence. Each could be a separate count, so King might be fortunate … unless prosecutors decide to add more counts later. The FBI clearly has been scouring social media postings from King, both under his own name and his “Rob Gutierrez” nom de guerre, as the indictment includes a number of other posts that don’t quite cross the line. They do, however, show that King’s threats were not just satirical in nature.

Although this one might come close:

This one might be the one King will regret the most:

What can we say, except that Kash Patel apparently found his terms acceptable? King will have plenty of time to reflect on exactly who got “f***ed” in this exchange, too — as in “f*** around and find out.”

We’re taking a lighthearted view of this case because of the alleged perp’s alleged stupidity. However, it is more meaningful than it seems at first blush. For the last few years, the federal government had stifled and censored legitimate dissent while allowing radicals to commit violence and conduct intimidation campaigns for their causes. The DoJ tried to cast parents as domestic terrorists for objecting to school policies and pro-life sidewalk counselors as dangerous felons.

Federal law enforcement is being realigned to its real purpose now. The censors are gone on legitimate dissent, while the violent radicals and terrorist mouthpieces are being held accountable for their actions. King may not be the biggest target for law enforcement, but that makes this prosecution an even more important signal to the malefactors on the fringes of politics. The FBI and the DoJ are not f***ing around any longer — and anyone who believes differently will find out soon enough.
