A Turning Point USA event at Purdue University turned confrontational Thursday when conservative rapper Topher was splashed in the face with water by a protester during a campus appearance.

The incident occurred during the student organization’s “Prove Me Wrong” tour stop, which encourages students to engage in public debates on controversial topics.

The tour features open discussions on subjects ranging from college costs to immigration and race-related policies.

During the exchange caught on camera, Topher was speaking with a protester when an individual wearing a surgical mask and cat ears suddenly threw water in his face.

The 12-second video clip, posted to X by Turning Point USA, shows Topher in mid-sentence as the water is tossed.

“You have your opinions, just because—” Topher began, before being cut off by the splash.

Another protester standing nearby can be heard responding to the act, saying, “Don’t do that. You should not have done that.”

The assailant was not identified, and there is no report at this time regarding disciplinary actions or arrests. Purdue University has not released an official statement on the matter as of this report.

Turning Point USA, which organized the event, is a conservative student nonprofit known for hosting public debates and speeches at colleges nationwide.

The group’s “Prove Me Wrong” series is structured to spark dialogue on contentious issues. Past topics have included “College is a Scam,” “There Are Only Two Genders,” and other politically charged statements.

The confrontation at Purdue follows another recent disruption involving the TPUSA tour at the University of California, Davis.

There, demonstrators reportedly overturned tables, stole equipment, and forced the event to shut down.

Video from that incident showed police trailing behind the group of masked demonstrators but not physically intervening to stop the vandalism.

They stole the canopy, ripped down banners, smashed foam boards, and even tried to steal the iPad and laptop of a @tpusastudents field rep.

At both universities, TPUSA staff and participants were targeted while conducting First Amendment-protected activities in designated public areas.

The incidents have reignited debate over free speech protections on college campuses and the responsibility of school administrators to ensure a safe environment for diverse viewpoints.

TPUSA has called on university officials and local authorities to take stronger action to ensure the safety and rights of student groups and guest speakers.

Topher, a U.S. Air Force veteran and political commentator, has been an outspoken conservative voice and frequent guest at TPUSA events.

He has not released a public statement about the Purdue incident beyond acknowledging the event on social media.

There have been no confirmed reports regarding whether the protester involved is a Purdue student or affiliated with any campus group.

The university has faced similar disruptions in the past involving political events, and the latest occurrence has prompted new concerns over how institutions are responding to hostile protests during sanctioned campus gatherings.

Turning Point USA has stated that it will continue its tour despite recent interference and has scheduled additional events on other college campuses in the coming weeks.
