Podcast host Sam Fragoso pressed Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren during a Sunday episode of his show over her past defense of former President Joe Biden’s mental fitness.
Fragoso, on “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso,” alleged that Warren defended Biden’s fitness as late as July 2024, the month after his campaign-ending single debate performance against President Donald Trump. Warren did not dispute this. (RELATED: ‘The Party Has Been Taken Over’: Former Clinton Pollster Tells Harris Faulkner ‘Far Left’ Made Democratic Party ‘Unrecognizable’)

“Do you regret saying that President Biden had a mental acuity, he had a sharpness to him?” Fragoso asked. “You said that up until July of last year.”
“I said what I believed to be true,” Warren responded.
Fragoso asked if the senator believed Biden was “as sharp” as she was.
“I said I had not seen decline,” Warren responded. “And I hadn’t at that point.”
“You did not see any decline from 2024 Joe Biden to 2021 Joe Biden?” Fragoso followed up.
Warren doubled down on her claim that she had not observed Biden diminishing at the time of her remarks.
“You know, the thing is, he — look, he was sharp. He was on his feet,” she said. “I saw him [at a] live event. I had meetings with him a couple of times.”
“Senator, ‘on his feet’ is not praise,” Fragoso said. “‘He can speak in sentences’ is not praise.”
Warren appeared to acknowledge the host had a point, responding “fair enough” twice.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris also denied Biden exhibited any cognitive issues even after taking his spot as the Democratic presidential nominee when he dropped out and endorsed her in July 2024.
Moreover, corporate media spent years dismissing voters’ and Republicans’ worries about Biden’s mental acuity until his 2024 debate showing.
Former NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” April 9 that legacy media members avoided blatant coverage of Biden’s age-related issues to evade the appearance of boosting Trump.
“The only thing I can chalk it up to is this, whatever you want to call it, this fear that some members of the media had sometimes — that they would be perceived as helping Trump if they somehow diminished Biden,” Todd said. “Right? That it was some sort of zero-sum game. And I think this has been the fundamental mistake that many members of the traditional press have done.”
Voters had concerns about Biden’s mental fitness being inadequate to serve as president for years before the 2024 debate. Republicans repeatedly cast doubt on his cognitive fitness — even during his 2020 campaign — as he made numerous gaffes.
