Fox News host Greg Gutfeld sharply criticized Democrats on Friday over their response to the deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, an illegal migrant removed by the Trump administration in March.
During a segment on Gutfeld!, the host accused Democrats of using Abrego Garcia to promote political narratives, comparing their reaction to past high-profile controversies.
Gutfeld’s remarks follow weeks of political fallout surrounding the deportation, which has prompted backlash from Democrats and advocacy groups.

The Biden-Harris administration previously acknowledged that Abrego Garcia’s removal may have been made in error.
However, the Department of Justice has defended the decision based on Abrego Garcia’s alleged criminal ties.
“Look, Abrego is a Maryland man, right? Ted Bundy is a dating expert. The Unabomber is a pen pal. Charles Manson, family man,” Gutfeld said.
“I think Republicans and other sane people should be credited with unbelievable patience. As we had to sit through the endless lionizing of a thug, they turned him into, I don’t know, Rosa Parks with tats.”

Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador and reportedly sent to the country’s high-security mega-prison.
In April, the DOJ released documents detailing his suspected connections to the violent MS-13 gang.
Those records also highlighted an incident where Abrego Garcia was stopped by law enforcement while driving a vehicle registered to a convicted human smuggler.
Newly released footage from Tennessee state troopers shows a 2022 traffic stop in which Abrego Garcia was pulled over with eight other individuals in the vehicle.
ICE was reportedly notified at the time, but the agency did not take him into custody.
According to Fox News Digital, the Trump administration has now brought the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The initial filing acknowledged that Abrego Garcia may have been deported mistakenly, but argued his suspected affiliation with MS-13 justifies keeping him out of the country.
Gutfeld drew comparisons to past political controversies, including the Jussie Smollett case.
“It was just like Jussie Smollett, where we had to bite our tongues and let the Dems work through their five stages of performative outrage,” he said.
“But we knew it was going to happen. Then what’s going to happen? They’re going to pivot. Suddenly it’s not about the Maryland dad at all. It’s about all of us.”
The Fox News host pushed back against attempts to frame Abrego Garcia as a victim.
“No, it’s not about all of us. You made it about the Maryland dad. This is the hill you chose to die on, and you’re going to die on it,” he said.
“They always seem to pick the wrong side on the wrong hill.”
Gutfeld also criticized Democrats for whom they choose to support publicly.
“Trans athletes, left-wing congressmen who let dogs die, a guy who assassinates a CEO, pro-Hamas protesters, BLM rioters, looters who are only trying to get bread, the wife-beating gangbanger. If you want to find a scumbag, just look for the Democrat that’s defending him.”
“Meanwhile, who do they demonize? Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Daniel Penny—men who actually try to do good,” he added.
Gutfeld concluded the segment by questioning the sincerity of Democratic outrage.
“But I don’t believe that the Dems actually ever cared about this guy,” he said.
“They don’t really care about the victims at all. What they care about is themselves and how to score virtue signaling points and political points. Who is the real victim? They don’t care unless it’s them, unless they get mugged, unless they get carjacked.”
The Trump administration has continued to defend its decision, pointing to public safety concerns and Abrego Garcia’s suspected criminal affiliations.
The Supreme Court is expected to review the case as the legal proceedings continue.
