Influence Gone, Money Reportedly Drying Up Fast [WATCH]

Joe Biden and his family are reportedly grappling with financial difficulties in the months following his departure from office, according to political analyst Mark Halperin.

The remarks were made during a discussion on Thursday following Joe and Jill Biden’s appearance on ABC’s The View in New York City — a move that appears to be part of a broader effort to reestablish the former president’s public image.

Halperin noted that the Biden family has begun taking steps toward a “comeback,” with Politico reporting that they recently hired a former Pentagon spokesperson to manage public relations efforts.

“Joe Biden wants to be out there… He wants to speak out against Donald Trump. He wants to defend his reputation,” Halperin said.

One key factor, according to Halperin, is the financial fallout stemming from the end of the Biden presidency and the dissolution of what he described as “Biden Inc.”

“I talked to someone very familiar with the Bidens… and they’ve pointed out something that I’m going to say now, that to me is the explanation, or at least part of the explanation, which is Biden Inc. has collapsed,” Halperin said.

According to Halperin’s sources, the extended Biden family had become accustomed to a high standard of living supported by the various income streams associated with Joe Biden’s political influence — particularly during his time as vice president and president.

That influence, they say, was central to the family’s financial activity.

“All those Biden grandkids had a lavish lifestyle, which they very much liked,” Halperin said.

“Hunter made hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars. Joe, as a former president, is not in a position to get the same kind of paid speeches, corporate boards, [or] book deals.”

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who joined the discussion, added that the former president’s diminished influence was now affecting the family’s bottom line.

“The grift is over,” Spicer said.

“The big guy’s not getting his cut anymore, and that’s a problem. I get it; they’ve lived a very lavish lifestyle… but the whole family was coming from one source and they lost their USAID funding basically.”

Halperin estimated the Biden family may have brought in $10 million annually during their peak. “What’s Biden Inc. pulling in today?” he asked.

The pair also questioned Biden’s future viability as a paid public speaker or corporate figure.

“No one wants to know what he thinks,” Spicer said.

“Number two, he doesn’t know what he thinks, and that’s a bigger problem.”

Halperin, addressing Biden’s speaking prospects, added, “You don’t think the Washington Speakers Bureau looked at him and said, ‘That guy needs to be flown all over the country giving $800,000 speeches?’”

Spicer replied sarcastically, “No. I think they looked at him and said, ‘We’ll get back to you after the company retreat.’”

They also touched on Biden’s potential for establishing a presidential library — often a major source of legacy fundraising and influence — noting that donor interest appears to be low.

“He’s not a good fundraiser, and the donors are not currently in love with him,” Halperin concluded.

Biden’s recent media appearances come as the Trump administration has reportedly prepared to release audio recordings from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden — the same interview in which Hur described the former president as “an elderly man with a poor memory.”

The potential release could further complicate Biden’s attempt to rebuild public credibility in his post-presidency chapter.

As of now, no formal financial disclosures from the Biden family post-White House have been released, but public comments from individuals close to the situation suggest a clear shift in their financial and political status.
