A woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a civil lawsuit against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging that he raped her at his Manhattan apartment in 2001.
The lawsuit, filed in New York, states that Jane Doe and Combs met in 2001 and spent time together on several occasions before the alleged incident occurred.
According to the filing, during one of those meetings at Combs’ apartment, the woman claims he sexually assaulted her.

Jane Doe alleges that Combs pushed her onto his bed, placed his hand on her throat, and made a threatening statement before proceeding with the alleged assault.
The complaint describes in detail her account of the incident and asserts that Combs used physical force to overpower her.
The civil suit contains graphic allegations and descriptions, including statements reportedly made by Combs during the incident.
The woman claims she did not consent to the sexual act and asserts that she experienced emotional and psychological distress in the years following.

Combs has faced increasing scrutiny in recent months as multiple civil complaints have been filed against him, alleging various forms of misconduct dating back several years.
This latest filing follows a growing number of legal challenges for Combs, who has been at the center of several high-profile lawsuits in the past year.
Earlier this year, federal authorities executed a raid on properties linked to Combs in Los Angeles and Miami, reportedly in connection to separate investigations.
The lawsuit filed by Jane Doe is one of several being brought forward under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which temporarily lifted the statute of limitations for victims of alleged sexual assault to pursue civil action for incidents that occurred years or even decades ago.
The act, signed into law in 2022, provided a one-year window for survivors to file claims regardless of when the alleged incident occurred.
That window closed in late 2023, but several high-profile suits were filed in the final weeks before the deadline.
Legal experts say that cases brought under the Adult Survivors Act still require the plaintiff to meet a burden of proof under civil standards, which differ from the higher threshold required in criminal court.
Court records indicate that Jane Doe is seeking unspecified damages for emotional suffering and harm resulting from the alleged incident.
The case is currently pending in New York State Supreme Court.
Sean Combs has not been criminally charged in connection with the allegations described in this lawsuit.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any new criminal investigations are underway related to this specific incident.
The case remains active and under review by the court. Further proceedings are expected in the coming months.
