A massive brawl involving more than 300 juveniles broke out at Menlo Park Mall in Edison, New Jersey, on Saturday evening, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals and leaving one police officer with a serious injury, as reported by the Gateway Pundit.

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi confirmed the incident on Instagram, stating that “over 300 youth” had gathered at the mall, prompting a large disturbance.

Oxnard police were investigating gunfire around Southwinds Park that reportedly left several teens injured Tuesday night, March 4, 2025.

He noted that none of the individuals arrested at the time were Edison residents. The mayor also said no weapons were reported during the incident and that assistance from neighboring police departments helped restore order.

Edison Police Chief Tom Bryan later confirmed that a total of seven juveniles were arrested. One was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. The remaining six were charged with disorderly conduct, with one of those also facing a charge of resisting arrest.

Bryan added that the event appeared to be the result of a TikTok post encouraging youth to gather at the mall. According to his statement, only one Edison officer was present at the mall when the situation began to escalate.

‘Four juveniles were arrested for a large brawl that broke out Saturday at Menlo Park Mall in Edison, according to Mayor Sam Joshi.

Joshi says over 300 young people gathered at the mall before the fight ensued.’

During efforts to manage the scene, one officer sustained a broken ankle.

“This is an issue. That’s a problem that we have now,” Bryan said, expressing concern about a lack of parental involvement.

“What’s up with the parents? I always knew what my kids were doing. I would never condone them going to the mall and creating havoc and chaos.”

Despite initial claims that no injuries occurred, Bryan confirmed the officer’s injury was serious and directly related to the incident.

The situation at Menlo Park Mall follows a string of youth-related disturbances in New Jersey. Earlier this month, a church carnival in the state was canceled due to problematic behavior from teens, and arrests were made at another local mall.

Saturday’s events also echo previous large-scale youth disturbances elsewhere in the region. In October, a similar situation occurred at Kings Dominion theme park near Richmond, Virginia, where a large gathering of teens required intervention by 14 sheriff’s deputies.

That incident ended without arrests.

Online reaction to the incident was swift, with social media users criticizing what they view as a decline in public accountability and support for law enforcement.

A video posted to X showed large groups of teens running through the mall as officers attempted to maintain control.

The Edison Police Department has not announced any further arrests at this time. The identities of the juveniles have not been released due to their age.
