Former Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow took to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to urge members of Congress to co-sponsor his new legislation, the Renewed Hope Act.
The Renewed Hope Act is a legislative effort designed to bolster the federal government’s approach to fighting online child sexual exploitation. It focuses on equipping the Department of Homeland Security with more tools and personnel for detecting, rescuing, and supporting victims of child sexual abuse material.
In a video shared by his nonprofit, the Tim Tebow Foundation, Tebow is standing outside the Capitol at a press conference, speaking about the purpose of the proposed legislation and why he’s advocating for stronger protections against child exploitation. “One of the offenders in the chat asked, ‘What the others were into?’ One of the other offenders then said, ‘He has 20 terabytes of baby rape videos’ and ‘If they [direct messaged] him, he would give them to him for a good price.’ Another offender confirmed and said, ‘He would show the others how to abuse his own kids and get away with it.’ That’s what we are talking about here today,” Tebow said.
This wasn’t the former quarterback’s first time on Capitol Hill. In March 2024, he delivered the opening statement at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on combating child sexual abuse material.
“Today we are here today to talk about the MVP, not the most valuable player, the more important MVP, the most vulnerable person,” he said.

The video goes on to show Tebow discussing the alarming issue of explicit images and videos of children under the age of 12 being shared online. He continues by highlighting that in just a 30-day period over 111,000 IP addresses in the U.S. were involved in this activity. Tebow goes on to describe the 2023 launch of “Operation Renewed Hope,” the first U.S.-based international victim identification surge, according to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Cyber Crime Center (C3).
A report from U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) states the completion of the operation resulted “in generation of 311 probable identifications of previously unknown victims, including 14 positive contacts and several confirmed victim rescues from active abuse.”

In April 2025, Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh were in attendance at the White House, joining President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, advocating for action against human trafficking.
His remarks before the committee touched on the operation being just a small part of solving the bigger issue of child exploitation. (RELATED: Tom Homan On Trafficked 14-Year-Old Girl Found Pregnant: ‘This Sh*t Is Happening Every Day’)
“We have to do more than just talk about it. We have to act on it and be about it,” he said.
Tebow was later at the White House to celebrate the University of Florida men’s basketball team winning the national championship and visiting Trump.
