FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced Thursday that the bureau will soon release surveillance footage from Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell that he says confirms the convicted sex offender acted alone when he died in custody.

Bongino stated the video clearly shows that no one else entered or exited Epstein’s cell at the time of his death.

“There’s video clear as day,” Bongino said in an appearance on Fox News’ Fox & Friends.

“He’s the only person in there and the only person coming out. You can see it.”

According to Bongino, the footage does not include the exact moment of Epstein’s death, but it does show the surrounding circumstances.

He emphasized that the video will be released in both original and enhanced formats to ensure public transparency.

“There is video, and when you look at the video—and we will release it, we’re working on cleaning it up to make sure you have an enhanced [version]—and we will give the original so you don’t think there are any shenanigans—you will see no one in there but him. There’s just nobody there,” he said.

Bongino also addressed longstanding public skepticism surrounding Epstein’s 2019 death inside Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, saying that no credible forensic or investigative evidence has surfaced to suggest foul play.

“There’s no DNA, there’s no audio, there’s no fingerprints, there’s no suspects, there’s no accomplices, there’s no tips. There is nothing,” he said.

“If you have it, I’m happy to see it.”

Epstein was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019. Authorities reported that he used bedsheets to hang himself, and the New York City medical examiner ruled the death a suicide.

Epstein’s arrest in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges involving underage girls reignited scrutiny over his past connections to influential public figures.

Since his death, numerous theories have circulated, including speculation that he may have been killed to prevent him from testifying about others involved in his criminal network.

These theories have been widely circulated online, particularly among conservatives and MAGA-aligned commentators who suspect a broader cover-up involving elites.

Bongino addressed those concerns, stating, “I’m just telling you what we see in the file. I just want to be crystal clear on this. I am not asking anyone to believe me. I’m telling you what’s there and what isn’t.”

The upcoming video release follows criticism aimed at Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel after both men recently stated they believe Epstein’s death was a suicide.

In a previous post on X, Bongino wrote, “I have reviewed the case. Jeffrey Epstein killed himself. There’s no evidence in the case file indicating otherwise.”

I haven’t done any media interviews to this point because I want to keep the attention on the work. I don’t work for myself anymore, I work for you.
But it is important to relay to you what we’re doing, and the media can be a tool for that. That’s why we chose a long-form…

Patel, who also reviewed the case, echoed that conclusion in a separate interview with Fox News.

“As someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor, who’s been in that prison system, who’s been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who’s been in segregated housing, you know a suicide when you see one, and that’s what that was,” he said.

Bongino concluded his remarks Thursday by noting that “a disclosure on this” is expected soon, reiterating that the FBI is working to make the evidence publicly available.
