Typically, failing at your job in spectacular fashion, in a spectacularly public manner, is grounds for dismissal. At the very least, permanent respite from the public eye. For former Vice President Kamala Harris, it could be a launching pad for another high-profile position. 

Harris is reportedly weighing a run for California governor. She has the name recognition. She’s won multiple races in California already, both in San Francisco and in statewide elections. Harris hasn’t thrown her name in the hat just yet. But rival Democrats are already sharpening their claws. Their new line of attack isn’t just aimed at Harris — it’s a bomb which could take down some of the most prominent members of their own party.
