Elon Musk made headlines Thursday afternoon after alleging on X that President Donald Trump appears in files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The accusation came during an online exchange between Musk and the president, escalating an already tense public rift between the two high-profile figures.
“@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted on Thursday.
“That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

The timing of Musk’s claim coincided with a broader back-and-forth between the Tesla and SpaceX CEO and President Trump. The dispute played out across X and Trump’s platform, Truth Social.
In response to Musk’s post, President Trump issued a statement Thursday, redirecting attention to ongoing legislative priorities and suggesting Musk’s motives were politically driven.
“I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The president was referring to a major spending and tax bill currently under consideration in the U.S. Senate.
“It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that.”
President Trump continued, “I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also addressed Musk’s behavior and their previous working relationship, claiming he had asked Musk to step away from a government role related to electric vehicles.
“Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” Trump said in another Truth Social post.

The public clash comes as both men remain key figures in the national conversation—Trump as the current President of the United States and Musk as one of the most prominent tech and business leaders in the country.
The exchange also fuels ongoing interest in the still-unreleased Epstein files, which have been the subject of speculation and legal battles for years.
Neither Musk nor Trump provided additional evidence or documentation in support of their respective claims.
As of Thursday evening, no official agency or court has released a list tying President Trump to Jeffrey Epstein’s known records.
Let me get this straight:
Democrats tried to put Trump in prison for 700 years, take his business empire from him, impeach him twice, take him off the ballot, and censor him on all social media – all the while they were sitting on info that Trump was on the Epstein list?
This…
