‘Mostly Peaceful’ 2.0: Another Great Moment in Protection Racket Media

Mainly, I prefer to take Sundays off. Many of you do as well. I write a Sunday reflection either in the morning, or more commonly now, the Saturday before (and thank you for reading those), and then spend the day on relaxation and enjoyable pursuits. Several years ago, my friend Dennis Prager prevailed on me to take the Sabbath seriously, not just for respect for the Lord but also for my own good — and it’s great advice. 

Occasionally, however, something outrageous takes place that overrides that practice, and my sanity requires me to vent. After reviewing the media coverage last night, our pals at Twitchy brought us the piece de la résistance, heavy on the resistance. This is how CNN covered the riots in Los Angeles, despite the on-camera arsons, assaults on ICE agents, and general bedlam:

If this looks familiar, it’s because CNN used the same playbook as they did five years ago during the George Floyd riots:

MSNBC also used “mostly peaceful” as their motto in 2020, and the rest of the media followed suit, including and especially the coverage about the Twin Cities and the massive destruction that took place there. As John detailed in his post last night, there is a massive amount of violence sweeping through Los Angeles, much of it directed at legitimate law enforcement actions by the federal government. The local authorities didn’t lift a finger to stop it the first day, and it predictably escalated the second day. 

Meanwhile, just like CNN and every single £$%^&% Protection Racket Media outlet did with Joe Biden’s cognitive incapacity for the last four years, they are going to tell you to trust them rather than your own eyes and ears. They will flat-out ignore the violence as long as they can’t use that violence to damage Republicans, and pretend that nothing’s happening as the city (or cities) burn. They want to paint the decision by Donald Trump to send in the National Guard to protect federal agents as somehow illegitimate, just in the same way these same media outlets told us that the evidence of Joe Biden’s senility was really just his “childhood stutter,” when it wasn’t “cheap fakes” and vicious Republicans making up stuff about President Sharp-As-A-Tack, Ring-Runner Around Youthful Aides. 

Why? Because CNN, MSNBC, and nearly every other media outlet in this country is controlled by the progressive elites that want to keep their grip on power, both politically and culturally. They are not in the journalism business — they are in the propaganda business. Only occasionally, when they get caught, will events force them into actual reporting. And even then, they will claim to have been duped while promising that they will do better the next time. 

Well, this is the next time. And they are still carrying water for the radical Left and the Democrat Party that the radical Left controls. The only way to fight that is to support independent voices and platforms that will expose their propaganda and provide even a modicum of accountability for their corruption. 

Update: ABC News suspended Terry Moran for a late-night personal attack on Stephen Miller, in a rare moment of accountability for obvious bias. Our pal John Ondrasik has some thoughts about that:
