Dems L.A. Riot Cause Narrative Completely Crumbled When Tom Homan Revealed This [WATCH]

Federal officials and local law enforcement officials say that riots in Los Angeles were deliberately stoked by activists following a federal operation targeting suspected cartel-linked businesses—not a Trump administration ICE raid, as some on the political left have claimed.

According to Border Czar Tom Homan, federal agents executed a criminal warrant on Friday at a garment district business suspected of money laundering, customs fraud, and tax evasion.

The warrant targeted business owners accused of failing to declare over $80 million in imports and skirting $17 million in taxes and tariffs.

Though the operation included the arrest of around 40 illegal immigrants, the primary focus was the criminal conspiracy probe, not an ICE immigration enforcement action.

Tom Homan told L.A. radio host John Kobylt: “It was a criminal investigation and while we served a criminal warrant, we arrested about 40 illegal aliens.”

He outlined the severity of the charges: “We arrested a murderer. We arrested several child sex predators. We arrested a rapist. We arrested someone who convicted of armed robbery. We arrested a Vietnamese national who murdered two teenagers at a graduation party. We made Los Angeles safer and people don’t want to hear that, they just want … to take action against ICE officers. They don’t want immigration enforcement but I’ve got news for them. We’re going to do it. We’re doing it today. We’re going to do it tomorrow. We’re going to do it every day.”

Homan’s comments challenge the narrative pushed by Democrats who blamed President Trump’s ICE enforcement for triggering the unrest.

The protests escalated when David Huerta, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), reportedly intervened in the federal action.

Huerta and a group of supporters blocked FBI and Department of Homeland Security agents, mistaking the criminal probe for an immigration raid.

Videos of Huerta chanting anti-ICE rhetoric as he confronted agents circulated widely, inflaming tensions and fueling fears that the operation was immigration-focused.

The following day, on Saturday, federal agents returned to carry out a second set of warrants near a Home Depot in Paramount.

The scene drew hundreds of Border Patrol agents supporting the operation at an adjacent staging location. U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, said protesters “instantly showed up,” and described their arrival as “orchestrated and organized and ready‑to‑go” and said this was what “set everything [the riots] off after that.”

Essayli told KFI radio: “When you execute a search warrant, You’re allowed to detain everyone on the premises, and everyone there unlawfully was processed administratively and subject to removal.”

This included more than 40 undocumented immigrants who were arrested alongside alleged cartel associates.

He also addressed rumors that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass had ordered police to stand down.

Essayli said LAPD was called for backup after federal agents encountered violent resistance and rolled out tear gas and less-lethal munitions.

He noted it took two hours for local police to arrive and that border agents brought in a Black Hawk helicopter mid-operation to resupply.

“Reinforcements were called in and Saturday we had hundreds of Border Patrol agents up here to continue our operations,” Essayli said.

“They were staging in Paramount—there’s a facility next to the Home Depot—when we were staging someone spotted them and reported that we were raiding the home depot and that launched the next wave of attacks.”

He added, “Now it doesn’t matter what the reason is. Now you’ve got the Antifas, the agitators, the professional rioters, and it’s go‑time for them. That’s why the president has called in and activated the National Guard. Newsom, I don’t know what he’s watching in his winery, but he should turn on the TV. It is not in control. The city is out of control. And the president is going to restore law and order.”

The federal authorities made clear that their Friday and Saturday actions were part of a broader strategy to target cartel-linked financial crimes, not routine immigration operations.

Sources including Homan and Essayli say the unrest was incited by activists mischaracterizing the operation, with financial and political backing from local left-wing interests.

Officials maintain the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security stand by their efforts to pursue both immigration enforcement and criminal investigations.

The National Guard remains in Los Angeles to stabilize conditions as federal agents and local law enforcement coordinate responses to ongoing threats of violence.

State and city leaders have yet to provide independent confirmation for claims that the unrest was the result of a scripted campaign by political organizers.

No evidence has been provided that local officials instructed police to stand down.

Questions are now turning to how political narratives and activist efforts intersected with federal law enforcement operations—and who can be held accountable for the misinformation that sparked chaos.
