President Donald Trump responded Thursday to questions about the upcoming “No Kings Day” protests reportedly planned against him, delivering a quick-witted remark that drew laughter from members of the press in the White House briefing room, as reported by the Gateway Pundit.

The exchange occurred after the president signed three new executive orders aimed at reversing California’s electric vehicle mandates. The executive actions target environmental regulations that had been adopted by California and embraced by 11 other Democrat-led states.

“There are ‘No Kings Protests’ planned against the country on Saturday. What are your thoughts on those?” the reporter asked.

Trump replied, “I don’t feel like a king, I have to go through h*ll to get stuff approved,” drawing laughter from the room.

He continued, “A king would never have had the California mandate to even be talking to you. He wouldn’t have to call up Mike Johnson and Thune and say, ‘Fellas, you gotta pull this off.’”

Trump concluded with, “Nah, (I’m) not king at all, thank you very much,” prompting more chuckles from the press pool.

The planned “No Kings” protests, reported earlier this week by entrepreneur and commentator Patrick Bet-David, are expected to involve over 1,500 demonstrations across all 50 states.

Bet-David suggested the protests are being organized by Democrat-aligned nonprofits and activist groups, many of which aim to stir unrest and opposition to President Trump ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

According to reports, some of the protests are being linked to Christy Walton, a Walmart heiress who has previously funded political campaigns opposing Trump.

She was recently reported to have helped sponsor a full-page advertisement in The New York Times as part of the broader effort behind the “No Kings” campaign.

The president did not directly address the organizing groups behind the protest movement but focused instead on highlighting the challenges of governance in a constitutional republic.

The room’s reaction to his response underscored his ability to defuse politically charged moments with humor.
