As anti-ICE protests continue across the country, a heated exchange erupted on Fox News Channel’s The Five on Wednesday, with co-host Jessica Tarlov clashing with Jesse Watters over the Trump administration’s ongoing deportation operations.

During the segment, the panel discussed the growing unrest sparked by President Donald Trump’s renewed push to deport illegal immigrants.

Tarlov criticized the administration’s claim that it was only targeting individuals with criminal records, arguing that a majority of those taken into custody had no convictions.

“Brian said ‘Well, this is what they were sent there to do, get the people out with criminal records,’” Tarlov said, referencing fellow co-host Brian Kilmeade.

“Exactly 70% of people who have been taken into custody have not been convicted of anything. That is directly flying in opposition of what they said that they were going to do.”

Kilmeade responded, citing current data. “113 have wound up with criminal records, 113 over the last two days,” he said.

The latest figures from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), released on April 29, showed that among illegal migrants arrested, the agency recorded “convictions or charges for 9,639 assaults, 6,398 DWIs or DUIs and 1,479 weapon offenses.”

According to ICE, since January 20, approximately 139,000 illegal aliens have been deported, with data indicating that three in four of those arrested had criminal records.

“But thousands have been deported! People are in foreign gulags without criminal records,” Tarlov said during the exchange.

“All right, well, Jessica, when you break into the country, you’re gonna get kicked out,” Watters responded.

The conversation escalated further when Tarlov questioned the practical impact of mass deportations, asking Watters, “Who’s gonna do your manicure, Jesse?”

Watters responded by saying he doesn’t get manicures, but Tarlov challenged his answer. “I don’t believe that. I see your nails every day,” she said.

“I cut them very well. I mean, is that bad? You want me to come in here with fangs?” Watters replied.

Watters added that if Americans wanted to change immigration policy, “they should take it up with Congress.”

The exchange came as nearly 1,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Los Angeles last weekend following a series of ICE raids throughout the city.

In response to escalating violence, President Trump authorized the deployment of 700 U.S. Marines and the National Guard to California to support local and federal law enforcement efforts.

Authorities in Los Angeles enforced a citywide curfew on Tuesday in an effort to contain ongoing rioting and looting.

The unrest marks a continuation of widespread protests, some of which have turned violent, over the Trump administration’s enforcement of federal immigration law.

Several California Democrats, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Maxine Waters, have attempted to downplay the destruction in the city.

The state’s leadership has pushed back against federal intervention while defending the rights of demonstrators.

Tensions between the federal government and California officials remain high as ICE continues to conduct enforcement operations across major cities.

The protests in Los Angeles are part of a broader wave of opposition to the deportation strategy, but ICE and Trump administration officials maintain that their actions fall within the bounds of federal immigration law.
