Philadelphia Sores-backed District Attorney Larry Krasner made a series of controversial statements Thursday ahead of coordinated anti-ICE protests planned for the weekend.

During a press conference with community organizers in Philadelphia, Krasner claimed President Donald Trump is preparing a “military overthrow” of the U.S. government, compared federal immigration agents to Nazis, and indicated he may pursue criminal charges against ICE personnel.

The remarks came in advance of a national protest campaign called “No King’s Day,” a series of demonstrations expected to take place in over 1,500 locations across the country.

The movement is modeled after last weekend’s protests in Los Angeles, which resulted in violent clashes between demonstrators and federal agents.

Protesters reportedly hurled bricks and Molotov cocktails at immigration enforcement officials during those events.

According to reports, the “No King’s Day” initiative is being supported by left-wing organizations, including Indivisible, which is helping organize and fund hundreds of the demonstrations.

Walmart heiress Christy Walton has reportedly paid for full-page ads in The New York Times encouraging Americans to mobilize nationwide this weekend.

In his remarks Thursday, Krasner directly addressed the Los Angeles protests, appearing to defend the actions of the demonstrators. Referring to previous high-profile incidents involving police, he stated: “We cannot fall into the trap that Pastor Nick Taliaferro mentioned, where somehow the story of a torture murder by a police officer named Derek Chauvin that played out over nine minutes on video and frankly scandalized the world, somehow that got written out of the narrative.”

He continued, “And the narrative became, ‘oh but look at the reaction,’ as if there had not been a cause.”

Krasner went on to cite the recent conviction of President Trump in New York—brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg—as evidence that the President is a “criminal.”

“He is a racist, he is a criminal, and he, very, very, very much like Adolf Hitler, does not believe in equality, who called equality a degenerate notion,” Krasner said, also claiming falsely that Trump had been “endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan.”

Throughout the press conference, Krasner made repeated comparisons between ICE agents and Nazi officials.

He also suggested that Philadelphia officials may take legal action against federal agents if violence occurs during the weekend protests.

“So what does that mean? That means for anyone who understandably and properly is morally offended by separation of hardworking families, by trauma being served upon them, by a Nazified approach to deportation, they have every right under the United States Constitution, its First Amendment, the right of assembly and free speech to engage in non-violent social protest,” he said.

“It is not only legally permitted, it’s actually a really good thing because it has always been a much better alternative to violence,” Krasner continued.

“And it becomes a way for the people to be heard in a democratic society so their elected officials can hear them and change things without violence.”

Krasner also repeated disputed claims about the events of January 6, 2021, stating, “We will also hold accountable anyone and everyone, whether they are uniformed ICE agents or they are opportunistic criminals who would tuck in behind lawful protest in order to loot, we will hold all of them properly accountable.”

He also indicated that his office does not intend to coordinate with federal agencies over the weekend, stating: “The notion that we’re actually going to talk to somebody like that, in a way that is reasonable, makes no sense. Because we all know what he’s actually up to. What he’s actually up to is setting up a military overthrow of the United States.”

Krasner ended the press conference by reiterating his intent to prosecute federal officials if they exceed the scope of their legal authority.

“But ICE agents going beyond, their legal rights… And yeah, some of their legal rights offend me but if they have the legal right they get to do it. But going beyond their legal rights; killing, assaulting, illegally handling people in violation of the law. Denying them their due process in a way that constitutes a crime in Pennsylvania, you will be prosecuted,” he said. “F around and well… you know the rest.”
