Former Vice President Mike Pence voiced strong support for President Donald Trump’s recent military strike on Iran, describing it as a continuation of the policies the two advanced during their previous administration, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Pence’s comments came during an interview on Fox News Channel’s The Story with Martha MacCallum on Sunday, following Trump’s announcement of successful precision strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites.
Trump’s recent military action, which targeted facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, was described as a “spectacular military success” by the president during a national address.

Pence, who had previously declined to endorse Trump during the 2024 election cycle, said he had “no doubt” Trump would act decisively against Iran if provoked.
“The president and I have had our differences, which resulted in me staying out of the 2024 race,” Pence told MacCallum. “But I have to tell you, I couldn’t be more proud of President Trump’s decisive leadership in this moment.”
Pence emphasized the military operation’s alignment with the foreign policy framework developed during their administration. “I saw last night as really a continuation of the policies of our administration, where we isolated Iran as never before,” he said.

He highlighted several actions taken during the Trump-Pence administration, including withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, military action against Syria following chemical weapon use, and the elimination of ISIS leadership.

Pence also cited the 2020 strike that killed Qasem Soleimani as a comparable example of decisive action.
“I honestly had no doubt that, if the Iranians did not step up and make a deal to dismantle entirely the Iranian enrichment program, that President Trump would act, our armed forces would deliver. And that’s just what happened,” Pence said.
Pence’s remarks mark a notable shift, considering his public refusal to endorse Trump earlier in the election cycle.
In a March 2024 clip played by MacCallum, Pence had said, “Donald Trump is pursuing and articulating an agenda that is at odds with the conservative agenda that we governed on during our four years.”
The former vice president’s recent comments align with others in the GOP who have supported the president’s actions. Sen. Lindsey Graham, political commentator Mark Levin, and Bill Kristol have also praised the strike.
Trump’s address came without prior leaks or media alerts, and was followed by confirmation from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Dan Caine that the operation had been carried out with “the highest of operational security.”
