Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s The View, made headlines again on Wednesday after claiming during the show’s broadcast that President Donald Trump “doesn’t really like strong women.”
The remark came during a segment discussing Trump’s recent criticism of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over her call for his impeachment following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, as the Gateway Pundit reported.
On Tuesday, President Trump referred to Ocasio-Cortez on Truth Social as “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress,” responding to her demand that he be impeached over military action taken as part of his constitutional role as Commander-in-Chief.

Reacting to Trump’s comments, Behar said during the segment:
“You know, my experience with him and my observation of him is, he really doesn’t really like strong women. He likes dutiful, obedient women who compliment him, I find.”
Behar’s statement was quickly criticized across social media platforms and news outlets.

Fox News published a headline calling her claim “ridiculous,” and responses online pushed back on the narrative, citing several examples of women in leadership roles within the Trump administration.

What an uninformed comment. His Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will go down in history as one of the most remarkable figures in politics. His cabinet is… pic.twitter.com/JePt34UNjA

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, frequently seen publicly defending the administration’s positions, has earned praise for her confrontational style and command of key issues.
Trump’s current Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles—who also co-chaired his 2024 campaign—has been described by the president as “incredible.”
Trump’s cabinet also includes prominent women such as Attorney General Pam Bondi, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon, each of whom hold significant executive responsibilities.

In addition, Melania Trump’s presence throughout her husband’s presidency and beyond has often been characterized by quiet resilience, particularly in the face of continued scrutiny from mainstream media.
Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter, served as a senior adviser during Trump’s first term in office and was often targeted by Behar herself during that period.
Behar’s full comment aired during Wednesday’s episode. Though not new to controversy, her remarks once again drew criticism for lacking context and ignoring well-documented facts regarding women in Trump’s inner circle.
Trump loves strong, confident, determined women who know that they are strong, they don’t have to screech, shame, belittle others to feel like they are strong and confident. He just doesn’t like women like the screeching women of THE VIEW.

The segment did not include any pushback from co-hosts, and the studio audience responded with laughter and applause. ABC has not issued any statement regarding the broadcast.
