President Donald Trump signed the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” a piece of legislation solidifying his 2017 tax cuts and other key domestic agenda items, into law at the White House on Friday.

Congress sent the bill to Trump’s desk on Thursday, with the House of Representatives voting 218 to 214 to pass it. Trump celebrated the legislation with a B-2 flyover as he signed the bill in the White House Rose Garden.

“As we approach the 250th anniversary of America’s founding exactly one year from now, we are creating an economy that delivers wealth for the middle class, a border that is sovereign and secure, and a military that is unmatched, unequaled anywhere in the world,” Trump said of his bill.

The president had set a goal of signing the legislation into law by July 4th, though the deadline seemed unlikely at times. Before the final vote of the bill, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries spoke on the House floor for more than eight hours in opposition to the bill. He set the record for the longest speech on the lowest chamber’s floor in history.

Under the new law, there is a permanent extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, in addition to delivering on the president’s campaign promises to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime pay and permanently raise the child tax credit to $2,200.

The law also provides hundreds of billions of dollars in new border security and defense spending, as well as slashing Medicaid spending by about a trillion dollars over a ten-year period.

Only two House Republicans voted against the bill: Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie and Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.

Trump has already vowed to primary Massie for his opposition to the bill but he declined to say whether he would do the same to Fitzpatrick in response to a Daily Caller question on Thursday.

“Well I was disappointed that he did that. There were two of them that voted no. So I was disappointed,” Trump told the Caller. (RELATED: Inside Trump’s Kick-Off Of America’s 249th Birthday)

The president visited the Iowa State Fair just hours after the “BBB” passed on Thursday to kick off America’s 250th year.

Before making the trip, a chipper Trump told the Daily Caller and other reporters that he didn’t need to make any deals to get conservative holdouts to support the legislation.

“That is some sight. Especially after what happened… it was an incredible mission, and I think I can say very proudly… that our country is more proud right now than it’s been in many, many years,” Trump said.
