I hate gun thieves. They steal guns, sell them to their buddies who then commit crimes with them, which are then used to justify new gun control measures that accomplish nothing except to infringe on our rights.

I don’t like thieves in general, but gun thieves are probably the ones I despise the most.

Murder, however, is inarguably a worse crime. I don’t think anyone will disagree with that.

So what do you think about a woman who, while out on bail, has picked up her second arrest since getting out, and this one involves 28 counts of stealing guns?

Yeah, really.

An Ozark County woman awaiting trial for murder and assault for a woman she was a caregiver for, and has been arrested twice since being let out of jail on those charges, has been arrested again. Fifty-eight-year-old Patricia Anna Santos-Duvalier of Dora is facing 28 charges for stealing guns earlier this year.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report of about 30 firearms, ammunition, a safe, jewelry and clothing had been stolen from a home in Tecumseh, allegedly by Santos-Duvalier. The owner gave specific details about several of the guns.

In early June, it was learned Santos-Duvalier had stored the firearms in the home of a person who lived in West Plains and was in a nursing home there.

In late June, that person passed away. Ozark County law enforcement went to the residence and a family member allowed them to search the home for the guns. They recovered 19 rifles and nine pistols along with ammunition, holsters, scabbards and a gun vice. The several of the guns were identified using the details given by the owner previously.

Santos-Duvalier was already accused of killing a mentally handicapped 38-year-old woman she was the caregiver for, and also had assault charges from this situation as well. Police say she lied about the victim’s car and her whereabouts at the time of the victim’s death, which is why she was arrested.

But then she’s gone and gotten herself allegedly involved in a whole lot more stuff.

Again, she’s accused of taking advantage of someone who needs assistance as well.

Clearly, if these allegations are accurate, she’s someone who has no business being around anyone who isn’t able to completely and fully take care of themselves. Ever.

Honestly, I’m inclined to believe this, and this woman seems to be a particular brand of disgusting. I won’t say she’s the worst I’ve ever seen, because that competition is pretty stiff these days, but she’s definitely in the running.

At some point, though, it looks like a judge is going to need to deny her bail, because she can’t be trusted with her freedom anymore. She seems to figure that with a murder charge over her head, there’s not really a whole lot more that can be done to her than what she’ll get for that charge, so she’s going wild.

So, for the public’s safety, she probably needs to remain locked up until her trial(s). After that, should she still be conviction-free, then sure. I doubt that will happen, though, and if she’s allowed to keep walking, I suspect she’ll keep offending. For the love of all that is holy, someone needs to address that.
