Congressional Democrats called on Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday to release Epstein-related evidence allegedly mentioning President Donald Trump.

Democratic Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, and Democratic New York Rep. Dan Goldman led Committee Democrats in a letter demanding that Bondi release any Epstein-related evidence allegedly referencing Trump that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have withheld. The letter follows the agencies reportedly concluding that there was no evidence that the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintained a client list.

The letter took aim at Bondi, claiming that her conduct was “worrisome” and that the DOJ was potentially being employed to cover up wrongdoing by the President, “including information allegedly contained in the Epstein files.”

“In February 2025, you came under intense public criticism after releasing the ‘first phase’ of roughly 200 pages of the Epstein files that consisted largely of information that was already public,” the representatives wrote, adding that the AG reportedly redirected hundreds of FBI agents to review the files. “In April, you claimed the FBI was reviewing ‘tens of thousands of videos’ of Mr. Epstein ‘with children or child porn,’” they continued.

The letter addressed the Trump administration’s recent announcement on Epstein. “This raises the question of whether the White House has moved to prevent the declassification and public release of the full Epstein files because they implicate President Trump, and whether these massive redaction efforts and the withholding of the files were intended to shield your boss from embarrassing revelations within those files,” they wrote. Amid his confirmation hearing, FBI Director Kash Patel said he would release the Epstein files to ensure the “‘American public knows the full weight of what happened.’” In February, the DOJ and FBI faced backlash for releasing a collection of files connected to Epstein containing public information, according to Axios. This week, the FBI said no further disclosures are “appropriate or warranted.”

The letter noted Elon Musk allegedly claiming Trump was in the Epstein files, a post the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency has deleted.

The Democrats also called on Bondi to release Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents report and alleged that she and other DOJ officials were covering for Trump more broadly in the letter. They named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and others while accusing the DOJ of acting as “Trump’s personal law firm.”
