The mainstream media’s contempt for President Donald Trump was on full display again Monday as the co-hosts of The View seized on his recent spat with Elon Musk to portray him as indifferent to national tragedies and unfit for office — a narrative that conveniently ignores the facts and Trump’s proven leadership.

During the segment, Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts went after the former president for responding to Musk’s political maneuvering, rather than focusing entirely on Texas’ flash flooding crisis.

Ana Navarro, known for her frequent anti-Trump tirades, said, “I was appalled last night that Donald Trump was tweeting and Truth Socialing about this fight with Elon Musk at a time when there is death, sorrow, and tragedy in Texas.”

Navarro’s outrage seems performative, especially considering that Trump’s team has issued statements of support and condolences for the victims of the Texas floods.

Moreover, while Trump addresses national issues across his platforms, it’s not beneath a sitting or former president to weigh in on significant political developments — particularly when one of the world’s wealthiest individuals is attempting to shake up the American political system.

Elon Musk’s announcement of a new “America Party” has stirred up speculation about whether the country is ready for a viable third-party candidate. Trump — who has faced Musk’s unpredictable swings of loyalty and opposition — responded with characteristic frankness, calling Musk out both publicly and on his Truth Social platform.

Goldberg opened the discussion by declaring, “The breakup continues between the world’s richest man and you-know-who!” Her dismissive tone set the stage for a panel-wide critique that focused more on Trump than Musk’s sudden political aspirations.

What went unmentioned is that Trump has a long track record of prioritizing American lives, jobs, and border security — policies that directly impact natural disaster readiness, infrastructure, and emergency response.

To suggest that Trump’s remarks about Musk are a distraction from his priorities is a misrepresentation of his record.

Navarro continued her diatribe by claiming, “We have a broken system right now because there is a president who doesn’t believe in the Constitution, and who defies judicial orders.”

This baseless accusation fails to acknowledge that President Trump has consistently used the judicial system to challenge overreach and defend American sovereignty — from travel bans to border enforcement.

She also accused Musk of playing a role in election chaos, saying, “Elon Musk and his 300-plus-million dollars, and god knows what else he may have done that we don’t know of, own the problem that he created.”

But Musk’s decision to challenge the mainstream media narrative and promote free speech on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) has exposed government censorship and Big Tech’s influence — hardly the actions of a villain.

Sunny Hostin, another vocal Trump critic, dismissed Musk’s third-party idea by declaring, “I’m tired of billionaires as politicians,” despite her co-hosts’ occasional praise for left-leaning billionaires like George Soros.

She went further, tying Trump to an unrelated DOJ policy: “The Department of Justice is now prioritizing seeking to strip citizenship from naturalized citizens… for Trump to say that about Elon Musk… that’s something that people are sort of missing.”

Navarro quickly reminded viewers that Melania Trump is also a naturalized citizen — a cheap shot implying hypocrisy, despite Trump never suggesting mass denaturalization or targeting legal immigrants.

In reality, Trump has always drawn a distinction between legal and illegal immigration — a stance supported by millions of Americans.

Co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines both expressed lukewarm openness to a third party, with Griffin noting that “about 46%” of Americans are open to alternatives.

Yet both women expressed doubt that Musk is the leader to carry such a movement, with Haines adding, “Musk is not the man to do it.”

Interestingly, Griffin also admitted a sentiment that resonates with many Trump supporters: “I watch debates in Congress, I watch our current president, and I feel underrepresented by both parties.”

What she failed to acknowledge is that Trump’s populist movement was born out of that very frustration — a desire for someone to fight for working Americans and challenge the entrenched elite.

Trump’s America First agenda is far from perfect, but it’s clear, consistent, and rooted in common-sense patriotism.

The women of The View may find it more comfortable to attack Trump’s tone and tweets rather than grapple with the failures of the current administration — from skyrocketing inflation to unchecked border crossings.

Ultimately, the real story isn’t Trump’s reaction to Elon Musk, but the media’s unrelenting obsession with distorting every word he says.

The American people are watching — and many are realizing that Trump’s bluntness may be exactly what the country needs again.
