A panel of CNN commentators clashed Saturday during a segment on the network’s “Saturday Morning Table For Five” after Republican strategist Pete Seat pointed out that many Democratic pundits and lawmakers had only recently taken interest in the Jeffrey Epstein case — and only after President Donald Trump became a focus of media reports.

The dispute came amid growing media attention surrounding the lack of new revelations in the “Epstein Files: Phase One” binders released earlier this year by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The documents, authorized by President Trump, were expected to shed further light on Epstein’s associations and activities.

However, critics noted that the binders largely contained previously known material.

Tensions increased last week when a Department of Justice memo reiterated that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell in 2019 and stated that investigators had found no evidence of a “client list.”

In an effort to clarify lingering questions, President Trump ordered Bondi to petition for the release of grand jury transcripts related to the Epstein case. The petition was filed Friday.

Despite the DOJ’s assertion that no client list exists, several Democratic lawmakers and media figures have recently demanded the release of such a list.

On Saturday’s CNN panel, Seat challenged the timing and motivation behind those demands.

“The victims here, let’s not forget about that. They should get justice,” said one panelist during the discussion. “I didn’t expect to have this implode the way it did.”

Another panelist, comedian Pete Dominick, added, “It really pisses me off.”

Seat responded by asking, “So then what did the Biden administration do to get justice for the victims?”

His question prompted an immediate outburst from the panel, with several guests speaking over one another in response.

The segment quickly became chaotic as panelists accused Seat of lacking empathy for Epstein’s victims, even though most of the panelists had not publicly discussed the case until recently.

“For four years… just ignore and gloss over the fact that your president, Democratic president, you know, Biden,” Seat began before being cut off by Dominick, who claimed without evidence that Trump was “best friends” with Epstein.

In fact, Trump removed Epstein from his Mar-A-Lago club after an incident involving a young woman, and their relationship ended years before Epstein’s arrest.

After repeated interruptions, Seat reiterated that justice for victims should be a priority and pressed the panel again: “Can you admit that you only care because Trump is in office?”

Dominick responded by shouting, “Don’t even answer that,” as the panel again descended into shouting.

Host Abby Phillip joined the discussion by stating that Trump had made Epstein-related disclosures a key campaign issue.

However, Trump’s official “Agenda 47” platform and published list of top campaign priorities do not include any reference to Epstein.

President Trump has also instructed Bondi to release any credible, non-classified information related to Epstein, provided it does not compromise the privacy of innocent individuals.

DOJ policy bars the disclosure of names of victims or individuals not accused of a crime.

The renewed interest in the Epstein case has come alongside increased scrutiny of federal agencies’ handling of evidence and public transparency.

The CNN segment ended without resolution, underscoring the contentious nature of the issue and the divided reactions among media commentators when Epstein’s history is brought into political discussion.
