Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed that he intends to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, in the coming days, as reported by The New York Post.

The announcement comes as the Department of Justice faces mounting scrutiny from supporters of President Donald Trump over the lack of transparency surrounding Epstein’s connections and criminal network.

“President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence. If [Ghislaine] Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say,” Blanche said in a public statement.

He added, “I anticipate meeting with Ms. Maxwell in the coming days. Until now, no administration on behalf of the Department had inquired about her willingness to meet with the government. That changes now.”

Maxwell, 63, was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and other offenses tied to her role in Epstein’s operation. She is currently serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison.

Her legal team has long maintained that she was protected under a 2008 non-prosecution agreement with the Southern District of Florida.

Blanche, the second-ranking official at the DOJ, stated that the July 6 two-page memo—which concluded that Epstein died by suicide and that there was no client list—“remains as accurate today as it was when it was written,” even as talks with Maxwell’s counsel proceed.

Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, confirmed the ongoing discussions with the government.

“I can confirm that we are in discussions with the government and that Ghislaine will always testify truthfully. We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case,” Markus said.

Markus has also criticized the federal government’s handling of the case and referenced Trump’s reputation for upholding deal-making principles.

“I’d be surprised if President Trump knew his lawyers were asking the Supreme Court to let the government break a deal,” he said.

“He’s the ultimate dealmaker—and I’m sure he’d agree that when the United States gives its word, it should keep it. It’s especially unfair that Ghislaine Maxwell remains in prison based on a promise the US government made and broke.”

Former Epstein lawyer Alan Dershowitz also weighed in, saying, “She is the Rosetta Stone. She knows everything. She arranged every single trip with everybody.”

Maxwell’s potential cooperation with federal investigators has led to speculation that she may seek immunity or even a presidential pardon in exchange for testimony.

The Justice Department’s renewed interest in Maxwell follows the backlash from conservative activists and lawmakers after the July 6 memo’s release. That memo dismissed the possibility of foul play and contained no list of Epstein’s high-profile associates.

In Congress, a bipartisan effort led by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) is pushing legislation that would require the release of government files related to Epstein.

While GOP leadership has not supported the measure, Massie and Khanna have launched a discharge petition to force a vote. However, procedural rules mean that action will be delayed until after the August recess.

Attorney General Pam Bondi also announced that she will seek court authorization to unseal grand jury records related to the Epstein case.
