Howard Stern’s long-running show on SiriusXM is expected to come to an end later this year after a 20-year run, according to a report published by The Sun.

The satellite radio host’s current contract is set to expire in the fall, and while SiriusXM may extend an offer, sources close to the show say it is unlikely that Stern will accept.

Last year, Howard Stern said he “hated” anyone who voted for Donald Trump and demanded they stop listening to his Radio Show.

Today, it’s been announced that SiriusXM has CANCELED ‘The Howard Stern Show’ after his Ratings plummeted.

“Stern’s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it,” a source told The Sun.

The outlet reports that discussions are underway for a possible agreement allowing SiriusXM to retain rights to Stern’s audio library, but the two sides are not expected to come to terms on a new live broadcasting deal.

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment,” the source said.

“But as far as him coming back to doing the show, there’s no way they can keep paying his salary.”

The insider compared the situation to CBS’s decision to part ways with late-night host Stephen Colbert, saying the primary issue was financial.

“After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going,” the source said.

“If Sirius isn’t going to give Stern a good offer, I don’t think it would have anything to do with his ratings. It’s more likely everything to do with the political climate.”

Over the past several years, Stern has become known for using his radio platform to express strong political opinions, including frequent criticism of President Donald Trump and his supporters.

As previously reported by Breitbart News, Stern made multiple remarks disparaging Trump voters and likening the president’s rhetoric to that of historical dictators.

“This whole idea of you like me, you are good, and if you don’t, you are bad… I’ve been the victim of this,” Stern said during a broadcast of his show on SiriusXM.

“I don’t agree with Trump politically, I don’t think he should be anywhere near the White House. I don’t hate the guy. I hate the people who vote for him. I think they’re stupid. I do. I’ll be honest with you, I have no respect for you.”

Stern said he was unbothered by potential backlash from listeners who disagreed with his political views.

In another broadcast, he compared Trump’s treatment of immigrants to the early actions of Adolf Hitler.

“It is the same playbook. We have seen it before in history,” Stern said. “Hitler was perceived as a clown in Germany… He was one of these buffoonish characters. Somehow he won an election. And that was the end of Germany. He dragged them through hell and back.”

Stern has also made sweeping characterizations of Trump’s supporters in previous broadcasts.

“I mean, my God in heaven, I feel like I’m in a nation of nincompoops. I’m hoping there is still some more brilliant, bright, vibrant people who love this country,” Stern said in 2022.

“They have never lived under a dictator. Their freedoms have never really been threatened,” he continued.

“And they have no idea what it would be like to live under a different type of system other than democracy.”

Howard Stern first joined SiriusXM in 2004 after leaving traditional terrestrial radio. His move to satellite broadcasting was widely regarded as a major milestone in satellite radio’s rise.

Over the course of his two decades with SiriusXM, Stern has signed several multimillion-dollar contracts, with the most recent renewal in 2020 reportedly worth $120 million per year.
